Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

He's a candidate that is affiliated with the Republican party...and in Kentucky, that's pretty much all you need. Scratch that, it IS all you need.

br
There was a Democrat in Rand Paul's seat from 1974-1999...

Again, Tea Party taking credit for something that wasn't even a result of their support. Paul NEVER trailed in the polls to begin with. He's a candidate that is affiliated with the Republican party...and in Kentucky, that's pretty much all you need. Scratch that, it IS all you need.

Nice try sir, but your are incorrect.

http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/05/18/rand-paul-wins-gop-senate-nomination-in-kentucky/
Kentucky Republicans struck the first blow at the Washington establishment Tuesday night by choosing political newcomer Rand Paul as their Senate nominee. Paul, an ophthalmologist and Tea Party favorite, defeated Secretary of State Trey Grayson, who had been championed by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.
That was the primary.

At the end of the day, if the sole politician used here to defend the Tea Party's influence is a Republican in Kentucky, that's pretty weak.

Both "movements" are ridiculous and won't really change anything at the end of the day.

If you don't understand the relevance of the guy endorsed by the Republican Senate Leader (from Kentucky!) losing to the Tea Party candidate, then I'd have a better chance of explaining the relevance of land to a fish.

1 seat...in Kentucky. Seems like a lot of national effort for such meager pickings. In reality, what we saw was the usual pendulum swing. Where the Teabaggers will fail is their lack of understanding that the majority of the country wants this to get balanced out. Extremists have buried this country. It's a big reason why there are no compelling candidates running on the "Republican-side." I'm ready to vote for one, but none of them give me any reason to. Of course, Obama isn't really either....maybe it's time to make a call to the bullpen and get Tom Hanks. You'd just feel anti-American not voting for him.

brian....Rand Paul is a United States Senator...that makes him one of the 101 most politically powerful people in the country....to act like he's just some "also-ran" from some hillbilly state like Kentucky is disingenuous at best.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

Are you saying that every senator is more politically powerful than the house majority leader? Really?

Individually, a senator only makes a difference in a 49/50 vote.

each senator is at least as powerful as the house majority leader....it takes over 4 house members to equal the voting power of one senator.

I can see now that I have been back on the board for a few weeks, you are settling back into your role of opposing my simply for the sake of opposition....this is a great example of such, and the reason that I quit posting last time, and will likely do so for good next time.

Do whatever you want. If I can't ask you a simple question without it turning into a personal affront in your opinion, then what is the point in posting and responding?
