Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Out of the last 10 election winners:
*6 taller
*4 shorter
*1 tied

That's hardly an exception. Newt is supposedly 6' anyways. He doesn't look noticeably shorter than any other candidate.

An Obama/Gingrich debate would be a turning point in some voters minds, imo. Like him or not, very few politicians could hang with Newt one on one, imo.
Like him or not, though, Obama comes off very in debates as well. Speaks well and looks the part.....Gingrich only meets one of the two criteria. Like it or not, looks play a huge part. The only looks contest Newt will win is a Pillsbury-look-alike one.

In tonight's debate, Cain argued that we should stop buy Iranian oil. Only problem is, we don't actually buy any oil from Iran. http://motherjones.com/mojo/2011/11/herman-cains-number-one-foreign-policy-priority-impossible

This will be over quickly when the voting begins

Cain is done
Perry is done
Sandstrom and Bachman have to win Iowa to have a shot
Newt doesn't need Iowa He needs to come in the top three
it is obvious the party does not want Romney
So can Newt continue to pick up the true Tea Party support and get some mainstream support
Nothing beats an Astronaut

br
SirBri,

Gore lost to Bush in 2000 won the popular but never won the electoral college

Gore made a great effort at stealing Florida but couldn't pull it off
That is a great myth that Gore had the election stolen and a point in history that will be looked upon as the beginning of the collapse of America.

I hear Iran is selling their oil in an effort to help find the development of a nuclear weapons program in China.

Seriously, why are Rick Santorum and John Huntsman still around? They are liked the guys who show up for a second interview for a job when they didn't receive a call back.

Iowa is a wild wild crapshoot. Bachman could win Iowa. Fox news did a special on Iowa this week. A win there could spring board someone. South Carolina is the money state in the GOP primary. Huckfinn almost won South Carolina in 2008.

Ron Paul will stay around

Perry is now throwing a million dollars into a national ad campaign. If you read the link in another thread, a good point was brought up...because the republican states aren't going to be all or nothing this year in the primary, you'll see people hanging in the race longer. I think this has a chance to hinder that nominee's election status unless someone really emerges -- a guy pulling like 30% of the primary vote certainly doesn't stand out as the party's choice.

Brum,

I do know a little something about winning the Republican nomination.

I wanted and would still prefer Michele. That is not gonna happen.

Perry's is like Rudi in 08 had the early money and was riding high (now seems to be hi) but as we get closer to voting he will fade away.
Cain is a moron on how the world operates. Historically foreign policy has been very important in the Republican primary and Cain gets an F in foreign Policy.

Newt is very clever and he is being the adult on stage.

Mittens who likes Mittens

Ron Paul has the most energized base but is not liked inside the party.

Yes, Newt is doing well in the debates. But at this point at that has earned him is a peak of being a close third. He hasn't shown yet that he could energize the electorate and it's something I'm not sure he could do. I simply don't understand why we have so many candidates hanging around. Putting seven candidates on a stage muddles up the ability of any one to energize the voting base.
