Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

I don't have a problem with anything Tebow does other than the fact that you or I can throw a football better than he can. I also have a huge problem with the media's treatment of him (for example, at halftime of the Oakland game when Tebow was 7 of 17 for 48 yards and had several throws that were five yards off the mark, Shannon Sharpe 'Tebow is doing well') and how over the top his fans are in their assessment of him and their inability to separate his play from the rest of the teams.

Tim Tebow threw the ball four times in the second half yesterday and the Broncos scored 31 points.

Read the ESPN recap of the game:

http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=311106013

Trust me, I agree with the majority that he should not/doesn't deserve to be an NFL quarterback, which is why I asked the question. How well do him and the Broncos have to do for you to change your opinion on him being a decent QB?
What he does and what the Broncos do are not hand in hand, which is what ticks me off about the coverage of him. I am tired of the media reports about Orton's record as the starter with the Broncos (while completely ignoring his record with the Bears) as a reason that they needed to turn to Tebow.

As a quarterback, Tebow does exactly one thing well....that is, he does exactly one thing that is positive, and then is run the ball. He has as bad an arm as any quarterback in the league given how horrible a delivery he has, he can't read a blitz to save his life (forget that he's a second year QB.....he is beyond help there) and the ONLY time he has been able to complete passes is when a defense has went into prevent. If he starts to get even a little bit of accuracy, expect his interceptions to go up because at this point the only reason he isn't getting picked is because he's missing by so much. Have you seen him play this year?

This is something I do want you to think of: you hear all the time that running quarterbacks will never be a serious threat to win in the NFL. People use it as a knock on Vick to say he'll never win the Superbowl. Don't want to pull the race card, but if Tim Tebow were black, what would fans being saying about him.....as a running quarterback with absolutely zero arm and no ability to recognize defenses? I think it's a fair question.
Really brum?

Did Vick lead any of his teams to the national title game and win a national title?

Did Vick win a Heisman trophy?

Or am I missing something? He didn't win those because he's black?

Explain.

Love DirecTV. Just wasn't worth it anymore. Here's what I was paying.

$70/month for DirecTV
$35/month 3mb DSL
$11.99/month for Blockbusters version of Netflix
Total = $117/month

Now I'm paying
$0 for TV
$25/month for 12mb Uverse internet
$5/month for Xbox Gold
$7.99/month for Netflix through my Xbox
Total = $38/month

And with the faster internet I can stream any sporting event I want easily. I watched NFL Red Zone on Sunday and then streamed the Giants game. Quality is just fine. Once I figure out how to get my computer screen onto the TV, it will be even better.
Actually the Netflix is definitely more than $10 now....

I had the same service and canceled once Netflix spiked 60%!!

Where abouts in the sticks are you?

Believe it or not, slowly but surely they're expanding high speed further into Mt.Vernon (dial-up areas). There's rumored to be a 4G tower built soon too, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Actually, Netflix split. You can get streaming for 7.99 or DVDs in the mail for 7.99 or both for 16.

I wonder if that has anything to do with the 1,000,000 customers they lost within a matter of 2 months.

I had the streaming service and loved it for the shows. The movie selection is alright.. could be much better. They should have done away with the DVD service and invested all their money into what's actually in, which is streaming.

Also they're about to lose Starz, which unarguably puts out Netflix most well-known movies. They'll take another huge hit after this takes place.

Loved the service... then they got greedy. Kapoot. Competition (Redbox and soon Blockbuster streaming) is only making it worse for them.

That's exactly what I do (minus xbox live). I can watch every single show, without commercials, that people with TV can and I watch every sporting event live (with great quality).

We figured out how to use our flatscreen as a second monitor so there's really no logical reason to pay an extra 70-80 for cable service.

Dude, Does Mt. Vernon even have 3G? The cost of rolling out a 4G tower FAR exceeds the number of subscribers it would serve in that area. There are major metro areas that still don't have 4G LTE (Indy JUST got it) -- and even then it's only by one carrier. Don't get your hopes up.

As far them expanding broadband. Yes, it's happening, but the bandwidth probably won't be that great. Still better than dial-up though.

Explain.
I was unaware that national titles and Heisman trophies were given out at the pro level.

School is now in session.

17 quarterbacks have won a Heisman since 1971. The total number of Superbowls they have been in is.....ZERO.

I can only go back as far as 1983, but the quarterbacks on the national championship teams are Bernie Kosar, Robbie Bosco, Jamelle Holloway, John Schaffer, Steve Walsh, Tony Rice, Craig Erickson, Darian Hagen, Shawn Jones, Gino Toretta, Billy Joe Hobert, Charlie Ward, Tommy Frazier (twice), Danny Wuerffel, Brian Griese, Scott Frost, Tee Martin, Chris Weinke, Josh Heupel, Ken Dorsey, Craig Krenzel, Matt Mauck, Matt Leinert (twice), Vince Young, Chris Leak, Matt Flynn, Tim Tebow, Greg McElroy, and Cam Newton. The total number of Superbowls they have been in is.....ZERO.

Now, in terms of the statement that 'Vick didn't win because he was black'....reading comprehension is a skill. My statement is that Vick is a running quarterback who can has a big arm and is okay at reading defenses; Tim Tebow is a running quarterback with a funky delivery and no arm who can't read defenses.....now you tell me why you are suggesting that Tim Tebow is better. Entertain me.

LOL. I think you know what I mean....have never actually been a quarterback in a Superbowl. Standing on the sidelines and clapping for Rodgers doesn't count.

So Crean's FF with Marquette doesn't count?

Absolutely not. Crean's FF does not make him more likely to win a Superbowl.

I would think they already have 4G.
