Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Dude, Does Mt. Vernon even have 3G? The cost of rolling out a 4G tower FAR exceeds the number of subscribers it would serve in that area. There are major metro areas that still don't have 4G LTE (Indy JUST got it) -- and even then it's only by one carrier. Don't get your hopes up.

As far them expanding broadband. Yes, it's happening, but the bandwidth probably won't be that great. Still better than dial-up though.
I would think they already have 4G.

wow, that's crazy, still doubt it would cover mt. vernon. those 4G towers don't cover as big of a region as 3G do. still, quite an aggressive LTE rollout by Verizon. AT&T is in like 6 markets right now, if VZW is in Evansville and Bloomington I'd guess they're probably in 100+.

Love DirecTV. Just wasn't worth it anymore. Here's what I was paying.

$70/month for DirecTV
$35/month 3mb DSL
$11.99/month for Blockbusters version of Netflix
Total = $117/month

Now I'm paying
$0 for TV
$25/month for 12mb Uverse internet
$5/month for Xbox Gold
$7.99/month for Netflix through my Xbox
Total = $38/month

And with the faster internet I can stream any sporting event I want easily. I watched NFL Red Zone on Sunday and then streamed the Giants game. Quality is just fine. Once I figure out how to get my computer screen onto the TV, it will be even better.
That's exactly what I do (minus xbox live). I can watch every single show, without commercials, that people with TV can and I watch every sporting event live (with great quality).

We figured out how to use our flatscreen as a second monitor so there's really no logical reason to pay an extra 70-80 for cable service.

br
Uverse is ATT isn't it? How's the internet speed, reliability, etc.?

I've got DirectTV and use Charter, out TV cable company for internet access...and getting killed. I've been getting lots of calls from ATT to change service but everyone I talk to says the DSL service sucks.

The DSL is no good, but the Uverse is excellent and cheap. Very good deal I think. Also, NO CONTRACT.

The Evansville tower covers Jasper, which is over 60 miles away. Mount Vernon is less than 20 miles from Evansville.

Sadly we don't have 4G coverage in Mt.Vernon. I've been all around town and all I can get is 3G.

Actually, my 4G doesn't pick up on my droid until right before USI's campus. You have to remember that USI's campus is actually outside of Evansville's city limits, so they probably made sure the reach would cover the mass of Evansville but covered USI as well. That's just my guess.

Interesting. I guess they like Newburgh more.

"Keep On Keepin' On

Can Tim Tebow and DeMarco Murray keep performing at a high level?"

Dear fucking god...

Pretty sure that was in reference to his fantasy football stats.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

2 for 8....lmao. I realize that winning is all that matters but can anyone on this board honestly say that they can see Tebow leading a team in the playoffs. No way 2 for 8 gets it done in any sort of playoff scenario.

I wonder how many of us could complete 2 passes in four 15 minute quarters in the NFL.

I'm good for one.

Tim Tebow has as many wins this year as Michael Vick.
