Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

And if you have not been able to change my mind in the last bazillionity-seven times we talked about this, what make you think I will change now? Biological life != Human life.
I didn't try to change your mind...you jumped into the conversation on your own

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

agreed, but Lars always tries to make me sound stupid because I believe that "one millisecond after" it becomes a life, however my point is that if I am stupid, then everyone who believes that it becomes a life at some point (Lars included) must also be "stupid" because "one millisecond prior" it wasn't a life.
Gray, your opinion is what it is. I think I have characterized it accurately. One analogy I can think of is believing that murder is a heinous crime, but there should be no punishment as long as the body stays warm, e.g. in a coma. Most laws have "degrees" that attempt to make the punishment commensurate with the severity of the crime. I would make abortion laws the same, with no punishment up to some agreed to time, and murder near the end of the pregnancy. This seems logical to me, the self proclaimed "common sense advocate."

Any belief or theory that blows up at a single instant in time is probably flawed, IMO. Even Ron Paul isn't trying to stop the morning after pill, because as he said (paraphrasing) "there no way to know what occurs a few days after conception, and it doesn't make sense for the Federal government to get involved. It's a matter for a woman and her conscience to decide."
