Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

70 years ago today, a day that will live in infamy. The first terrorist attack on our nation. At 19, my father enlisted in the navy 2 months after the attack and served until the end of the war. May we always remember Dec 7th , as well as the WTC victims of 9/11.

Hear, hear.

A friend and coworker of my Dad, back in the 1980's had been stationed on the USS Arizona during the attack. After the explosion that set off the forward magazine, he has scramblimg to get off the ship and got in line that was going somewhere. When he got to the front, the sailors were leaving through a port hole. This guy was not small guy, and knew there was no way he could get through the port hole, but there was no going back. He was forced through the port hole by the rush of people behind him, and he then swam to shore with two broken collarbones. He was one of the lucky ones. He survived.

My Father also enlisted shortly after this attack after he turned 18 later on in December. He served throughout the war. I am continually amazed what that generation did.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

Meat is Murder. Sweet, delicious murder.

What a story. I can imagine there were hundreds like it that day and also on 9/11. I visited the 9/11 memorial for the first time a few weeks ago. It was very moving, just as is the Arizona memorial. You know, after 70 years, she is still leaking oil. I would hope that everyone in this country has a chance to visit both places. Brings a lot of things into perspective.
