Underrated. So I'm not going to post about Mark Messier or something. Post a video or some info. When you post it, everyone should be like, "oh I remember that guy! He was good." We all have several I'm sure, but let's make sure every guy gets his own post. I'll start. Mitch Richmond - I loved this guy! I think it was because he was unstoppable on NBA Jams. Once he got on fire, it literally didn't matter. You couldn't miss. Loved it. [utube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jbtn4B5GH-M[/utube] |

The guy picked last in gym class

Kurt Warner, obviously, might be the best undrafted NFL player of all time. He'll be a HOFer...Warren Moon was undrafted as well. Got to throw in John Randle and Wes Welker. As a Dolphin, my favorite guy is Cameron Wake....he's an absolute freakish athlete. Quickest defensive end I've ever seen -- if he had Jason Taylor's reputation, he'd be getting a half dozen offensive holding calls against him per game. Here are a couple of videos: the first is from when he was in the CFL. It's him jumping and taking a bill off of the ceiling, which is 11'8" off the ground. The guy is a freaking defensive LINEMAN. Would really have loved to see how great he could have been if he had been in the NFL at age 22 instead of 26. When a room full of great athletes freaks out about something, you know it's pretty impressive. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

It's just amazing to me that nobody drafted him and he had to play two years in the CFL before an NFL gave him a shot....and it's not like he came out of nowhere -- he played at Penn State. In his first CFL season, he become the only player to ever be rookie of the year and defensive player of the year in the same season...he ended the year with 16 sacks. The next season, he recorded 23 sacks and was again the defensive player of the year, this team as a unanimous choice. After that season, 17 NFL teams contacted him and he worked out for 8. The Dolphins signed him and Tony Sporano totally misused him for a year, only playing him occasionally. He had 5 1/2 sacks. It wasn't until week 4 of his second season that he got a start, and he still ended up with 14 1/2 sacks that year. |

I fully expect Victor to Vince Carter/Blake Griffin someone "big time" this season. Sullinger on New Years is preferred. |

I would guess that dedicated's VO response was as a joke in response to cam or brum or whoever that said they wonder who put the money up there. |

I know basketball the best so I'll give you my list. Remember that underrated is relative - Chauncey Billups, not known before Detroit's championship runs, played in shadows of Hamilton and Prince - Manu Ginobili, the lesser known reason for San Antonio's dominance. People will point to Parker and Duncan, but Manu was huge for them. - Ray Allen, known as much for his dunking as his beautiful shot in Nowheresville (Milwaukee) and Irrelevance (Seattle) before being the least respected member of Boston's Big 3. I think you can make an argument for Shaq. He'll never be the face of the Lakers or Heat but he was directly responsible for those teams' championships. Kobe and Wade were second fiddle in those days. - Kevin Martin is as pure of a scorer as you will see but he's never played for a relevant team. - The more Kevin Love you see the more you understand that he bucks every trend known to what makes a good NBA big guy. He's not fast, overly big or strong, and he isn't remotely athletic. That said, he gets double-doubles in his sleep and can stroke it as well as most NBA guards. If he played in New York or LA or had a flashier game he'd be a face of the NBA. |

Shaq is underrated? Don't see it. He was the face of Orlando, definitely more popular when he was there than Dwight Howard is now, and he was the face of the Lakers in their early run....in the Heat's run, he was second fiddle, so I think he was assessed properly. |
