Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Some GOP contenders, e.g. Paul and Bachman, said we shouldn't raise the debt ceiling. What would have happened when the welfare checks stopped going out to NYC, Chicago, and L.A.?

riots. but that's like saying "what if the sky over NYC, Chicago, and L.A. started raining anvils....it simply would not have happened. there are about a millions areas to cut prior to welfare checks if the debt ceiling isn't raised.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

The US is borrowing 40 cents for every dollar spent, and saying that gap can be closed without potential dire consequences is naive. The truth is we would likely have a major financial system collapse, and nobody knows what things would be like on the other side.

I've addressed one of the major causes of our fiscal crisis, the high cost of medical care for seniors, and sky-rocketing costs for younger people too. This reality doesn't fit into the simplistic view that we can merely cut some government employees and $1000 toilet seats, and get to where we need to be.

Either of the Mormons in the race will start us down the right path, with a reasonable chance of being successful.

Borrowing 40 cents of every dollar....the collapse is eventually coming anyway

That's why corrective action must begin in 2013.

Lars,

Mittens is an assclown.
I have yet to hear one logical argument from you on the issue. The only thing I can think of is that Romney once insulted McCain's walker.
