Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I find this pretty funny and typical of calipari. Reporter asked calipari why his team starts slow and why that hasn't been fixed since IU pretty much "knocked" them and calipari says:

A) that Kentucky was up 2 (with 5.6 seconds to play);
B ) that Ohio State lost at IU (last Saturday);
C) that Kentucky “basically gave ‘em a basket at the end,” and
D) that rather than believe they got “knocked,” at Indiana, the UK players believe that Christian Watford made “a lucky shot.”

I guess he forgot that IU was leading for most of the game, that kensucky "giving us a basket" is his fault cause his players didn't listen to him, and that Watford had already hit 3 threes that game and 1 or 2 of them were from that exact same spot. so no that shot was not a lucky shot by watford

They can spin it however they want, but Watford is a good shooter and he had an open 3. That's a shot I expect him to make every time he takes it. To call it lucky is horseshit.

Watford shoots like 55% from 3.... higher than ANYONE on UK's roster. Yeah, REALLY lucky. Especially when he drilled one from the same spot not even 10 minutes earlier.

He's actually 50% (22 of 44) from downtown, but point taken. Overall, I think he's played outstanding this year.

Calicheat and Big Bitch Nation go together perfectly. I've heard several pUKe fans say that it was just a lucky shot, yet they forget that IU was ahead the majority of the game. If anything, IU let them back in to the game. They can keep saying what they want. Whatever helps them sleep at night. But in the end, that is still a loss on their record and a win on IU's.

He can say whatever he wants. Its in the win column for us, and the loss column for them.

Watford's shot didn't even touch the rim and it was an open shot.

Maybe we should be asking why UK is a lucky block from having two losses.

Calling it lucky is absolutely stupid, but probably just Calipari's way of keeping a young, seemingly fragile team's confidence and ego up.

He should be more worried that not one player was smart enough to foul the ball handler and that he was stupid enough to not put anybody at the FT line or near the inbounder after the FT. Basically let Indiana run free up the court.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Instead of saying the other team got lucky, he could tell his players what they can learn from the game and how they need to get better. That's what a good coach does.

I'm sure that's been addressed.

Even so, he keeps telling his players they lost only because of a lucky shot.

Players or fans?

I can't imagine having trying to explain what really happened to UK fans, so maybe it's just easier for Cal to call it luck.

We beat UK because of a miracle shot and we beat OSU because of the worst home-cookin officiating in the history of B1G basketball.

There were thousands of UK fans that saw them get beat on a "lucky shot" but there are millions of people that know what really happened.
