Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Sigh of relief.

I would have been so pissed if they blew that game.

Wow. What an incredibly frustrating game to watch. Great to come out of there with the win. I thought Penn State hit a lot of tough shots. I know it's been said ad nauseam, but we have got to get the ball inside. Great things happen for us when we get it down low. I understand teams can gameplan to take it away, but we have got to find a way regardless.

he was getting warm up jump shots, i expect him to hit those every game. they basically took the gamble of taking Zeller and Watford totally out of the game (by grabbing, holding, and harassing -- but still) which made our guards make plays. They did. Ugly game, but it's a road win.

One encouraging thing about this game was... last game, Watford outscored all of our guards combined... with Zeller coming in a close second on scoring... and this game, our we had two guards outscore both of our big inside threats.... We have so many guys who can score.

as btown said, they chose to give our guards a chance to win it. ok...but still no reason to give up 82 points to psu.

We can definitely be a tough team to match-up with......add our ability to push the ball and we become very dangerous to a team without much depth....just ask UK.

Yeah, it was a close game to PSU BUT lets not forget what they did in their last game. After a big win like that for them, they're going to be playing with a little more confidence against us and then they know they have a chance to knock off a top 25 team so all things combined, this was a good win against an 8 man team. GO HOOSIERS!

I agree we should never give up 82 points to Penn State. Get this, Penn State fouled just 3 more times than IU all game despite all the intentional fouls at the end.

Here are few of my takes on the game:

-Proof that we are a balanced team. Zeller and Watford dominated our scoring against Michigan but were limited on touches in this one. Hulls and Roth were able to get wide open looks and convert.

-Good play off the bench by Roth and Abell. They both hit some big shots that killed Penn State's momentum. Also great job by Roth hitting his free-throws down the stretch.

-Defense wasn't that great. We gave up too many points even though it looked like they were hitting some lucky shots.

-Missed free throws by VJ3, Oladipo, and even some by Hulls were crucial. We could have put this team away earlier by hitting our free throws. We're not friggin' Kentucky. We're too good of a shooting team to be missing so many free throws.

-Tim Frazier is a heck of an athlete, but we should have forced him to shoot it more. Obviously, he's more of a slasher than a shooter.

-It's tough to win on the road in the Big 10, and Penn State was coming off a big win over Purdue. We'll take any conference road win we can get, no matter how ugly it was.

17 assists on 24 field goals.

Hulls is now shooting 60% from three; Roth is at 58%; hitting 48% as a team. Never seen that from an IU team, ever.

The bad: Elston played very poorly today. I thought Crean made a mistake in putting Pritchard and Moore in the game.

That said, I thought by default he did a better job than Chambers did. I have no idea what his game plan was and he certainly didn't adjust at half.
