Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I was a bit upset we lost, but it really didn't bother me at all. I can't believe our season thus far, and there's no way one loss will bring me off of my high. If it continues, I'll get progressively more pissed, but last night's game wasn't a huge deal to me. It was an unexpected loss, and it shouldn't have happened, but that's part of playing in a tough conference, and overall I'm still giddy about where we are at.

I don't feel so bad after the loss. I mean it was bound to happen. Who honestly thought we'd make it the entire season without one bad loss? Fact is, I feel pretty encouraged when I look at how poorly VO has been. This kid has game and I can't imagine his poor D is going to continue. When he steps it up again, I think the whole team's D will improve and we'll get back to where we were earlier in the year.
Pass what you're smoking. VO is our best defender, hands down. Sophomores are allowed to have "off" games.

It wasn't our underclassmen that lost us the game, it was definitely our veterans. 1-2 rebounds from Chirstian, unacceptable. 1-7 from the field, we can't have that. Get to the line. Get in the post. Grab some fucking rebounds.

Verdell... I did not like the booing lastnight... but how do you not get better every game and as a senior make dumbass freshman mistakes? I agree that he is a big part of the team, but good God, put Remy in or even AE in clutch situations. Dribbling with your head down, looking totally lost on defense, and not slashing to the basket at ALL are unacceptable from him.

Idk how you take last nights lost and try to pin it on Victor. He made some very good hustle plays for us... and in the first half, he looked like the only player in an IU uniform that actually WANTED to win. So don't feed us with this "how poorly VO has been" bullshit when it's your boy Jones and the upperclassmen that are losing us games in crunchtime.

Pritchard? Worthless. 100%. Put Elston in there. Hell, put Jeff Howard in there. That pussy little foul where Minny got the "and one" just infuriated the shit out of me. He looked like a pansy. Nothing more, nothing less. Grow some balls.
You have some serious blinders. VO has been getting burnt for the last 2 games. Not just 1 or 2 times. Repeatedly. In fact, he was so bad last night that when we were making our run, Abell was in the game and VO was on the bench.

I keep bringing his poor performance up because the fact is that our defense is only as good as he is. When he is locking down the opposing team's best player, he's gold. Our whole entire defense is improved. We need him to be good to give the rest of our guys a chance. He's been terrible the last 2 games and hence we've been terrible.

As for Verdell, he was shit last night. I'm not about to deny that. And Watford was off as well, for sure. But I'm not sure how anyone watching the last 2 games could not see how bad VO's defense has been.
VO and tamazing are facebook buddies so his head is so far up his ass he can't see straight.

And do we really have to call players pussies and pansies on a message board. First off, it's not true. Secondly, you'd never say it to their face. And third, it's downright disrespectful. Anyone that cusses out a player on here or talks about them like that should be ashamed, and I question whether said person is a true fan. Does the name on the front of the jersey mean anything to you? I need a shower after reading some of these threads....

Oh boo hoo.

The Pritch doesn't need to play. You tried to say he was our best defender at one time. That's laughable. He plays like a little girl out there for being the size he is. If he was a freshman/sophomore... cool, I'd be fine with it. Be he's a senior. His best season was his freshman year. That's sad. He has serious confidence issues out there. You can just read it on his face, he's just WAITING for himself to fuck up. Then his whole "Oh MY God, you called me for THAT foul" when it was an obvious call. He looked like such a sissy committing that "and one" foul last night. I do not feel bad for saying that. When you're that big, and a senior, you man the fuck up and give your squad some good minutes.

Even at the OSU game I attended, EVERYONE near me was like Oh fuck Pritchard is in. Get him out! Put Elston in! Sure, he is a hard worker. So is Daniel Moore. So is Jeff Howard. So is Verdell Jones. Does that mean that he gives us the best chance at winning? HELLLLL no.

I said he was our best interior defender, and I still believe he does ok defensively. I thought he would turn it around offensively, which he hasn't. I was wrong for the 967th time on this board (see every discussion I've had with Dreach sans Zeller, lol). I still support him, and I don't call him names like you just did.

I guess that's because I'm a true fan of the program as well as the players.

I'm not going to sugar-coat his play after 4 years man.

Sorry for calling a spade a spade.

You can call a spade whatever you want without personally attacking the kid.

LOL

Ok. Pritchard is SOFT.

Happy? I'm not personally attacking him... does Pritchard post on here or something? I said he plays like a pansy. I'm attacking his work, which is openly on display. People are going to do that no matter where you are in life. Had it done to me. Part of life man.

Sorry.... I thought we played in the Big Ten. I forgot it's OK if our senior 6'9 240 lb big man plays cup-cake ball in the post. It's ok he misses 2 foot bunnies. He's earned that. We should give him a silver star, instead of a gold one. Good job Tommy.

I sure hope Pritchard has heard worse than that he's a "pansy" from our coaching staff. If not, they aren't doing their job.

Some people are way too sensitive about player criticism. Sure I'd rather have an educated conversation about a player struggling rather than just name calling, but I'd rather speak the truth than just talk about how much we appreciate all their hard work over 4 years like some people want to talk about. It's true, but it's boring.

It's funny how people get labeled Verdell 'lovers' despite every single person saying he played a horrible game against Minnesota. I'm also done with the 'I can't defend him after four years' statements from people who show up to call him out after bad games but if he plays well they ignore it.

VO has not played up well defensively the last couple of games. Made up statistics (25 deflections) and outright lies (4 steals when he has 2) shows who exactly isn't being objective.

We played poorly the last game. Jones played beyond poorly on the offensive end, as did Watford. In the end, though, we lost a three point game....there isn't a single individual who couldn't have played three points better than they did with the possible exception of Sheehey.

When I say "had LIKE" 25 deflections and 4 steals , that's just a rough estimate. I don't sit there with a fuckin stat book during the game. Whoopdee doo. Fact is, he EASILY leads our team in deflections, does lead in steals as he should, but he's by far our best on ball defender. Him, Sheehey, and (gonna heart some shit for this one) Daniel Moore are our 3 BEST defenders. Not saying anyone else isn't good, just they're our best.

Why? Because the put the effort needed into defense.

Wow,

I'm talking on ball defender. No, Cody ISN'T as good as an on ball defender as Daniel Moore. There's been a lot of times Cody could have been a little more aggressive and went for a block and/or contest a shot more than he has. But he'll learn, he's just a freshman. He's a solid defender.

Moore is a senior, and he played in the UK game for a reason. His defense is just awesome on the ball. He's our quickest defender for sure (I'm sure his soccer days helped tremendously here). You're a Purdue fan, you don't watch every IU game, therefore your opinion on the matter is void. Shoo shoo.

Did you ever consider that if Cody went after every block he might foul out. Maybe he as Bball IQ and knows he can't block every shot.

So because I am a Purdue fan you can't be wrong?
