Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

obama is leading in the polls before he has even gone into campaign mode. This one shouldn't be close.

br
wrong, the Republians aren't showcasing their anti-Obama campaigns very heavily yet either, because they are busy burying eachother. I'm pretty sure that Obama is still losing in polls against "generic republican"

and please don't insult everyone's intelligence by saying that Obama isn't in "campaign mode"....he hasn't left that mode in 10 years

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

While I will not be as abrasive as Aaron, I will echo his sentiments. A president sitting this close to general elections with an approval rating of 46% is not a sure thing for returning to the White House by any stretch. This will heat up and we will end yet another election 49% to 51%. The winner has not been decided yet by a long shot.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

Agreed. Sometimes I wonder if Brian even follows politics. To say that Obama hasn't even started his campaign is laughable at best. Hell, he just used the SOTU speech as a campaign speech THIS WEEK. I knew people in the Northeast tend to lean left but Brian leans so far I'm surprised he can keep his balance.

Regarding drug legalization, I will go along with it on two conditions:

1) We allow addicts to fail, and if they die, they die.
2) We adopt very strict anti-DUI laws. The second conviction means you never drive a motorized vehicle again.

I have no problem at all with #2.

#1, I agree with to a lesser extent. Not sure years of prison is cheaper than rehab.

I'm ok with an attempt at rehab. However, to be successful I think the patient needs to know that the system will only work with them for a limited time, and at some point tough love will be administered.

He's polling horribly in Florida right -- at 9%, which trails all the other candidates.

He's polling so low in florida because it is a closed primary so the polls are polling republicans only, and a large portion of the Republican base in florida are old Jewish people.
You think he is going to do well with a bunch of old Jewish people?
If you can't carry your own base, you can't win. There's no way to spin 9%.

And that's a huge problem....they are now starting to expose their own candidates without democrats lifting a finger. Newt Gingrich -- Mr. 'I won't go negative' -- is now the most negative of all candidates and is trying to paint Romney as a fake conservative. That's all well and good, but all it does is either produce a weakened Romney as the primary winner or a Gingrich who simply stands an incredibly small chance of winning the national election.

Rick Santorum:

"This race is just starting. It's a three-man race," Santorum insists. "We're going to be in this race for the long term."

Ummm......let's see....Romney, Gingrich, Paul. Yep, I guess he's right.

obama can bury obama...that's pretty much what it comes down to. or, some external event that neither he nor the republican candidates has any direct control over...
