Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I'll be happy when my city gets left alone. Gonna be a chaotic 10 days.
I know you were a bartender...are you still? If so, that could be a horrible, horrible week.

So it going to be impossible to find a place to watch the IU game against Purdue on Saturday night? We have tickets for the NFL Fan Experience on Saturday at 2 and we were hoping to watch the game after that...

Manager/bartender. Its been crazy already with preparing, and even though I don't work downtown, we are expecting the whole city to be pretty crazy. People were getting hotels in Cinncy.

It'll be profitable no doubt, and it'll be good for the city. Its just going to be mass chaos IMO. Roads everywhere are going to be busy nearly all day, and its going to be impossible to find any room downtown. They are talking about charging $100 to just park your car downtown. I believe you went UIndy, so you know how low key the city normally is.

I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Hahaha, probably so. Lots of waiting, and things will be very pricey. I really hope you already have a place to stay.

I realized I will definitely cheer for the Giants, since they did me the favor of beating the 15-1 Packers. At least Rogers still has that cute insurance commercial to fall back on...

Throw on top of that you'll have New Yorkers and Bostonians coming in.....have to think you're not looking at the most hospitable home town fans coming in. Huge rivalry with the whole Red Sox/Yankees complex and you have the Johny-come-lately Patriots fans who think that the NFL started in the year 2001 or so. Have to say that people coming from San Fran and Baltimore would be less arrogant. Could be off in the assessment...let us know.

Well, Baltimore fans are still upset over us stealing their team in the middle of the night. Not sure many of them would have wanted to come except to dump on our city. San Fran fans would have been an interesting take, big fan base from the 80s and 90s, plenty of money, but that's a long trip to a cold city. Many will still probably to come cheer on Victor Cruz (just kidding Obat!!!).

Financially, the two best teams won the conference title games. Huge populations, plenty of $, and they are cold weather people. I'm sure I'll run into plenty of jackwads from both teams.

It'll definitely be a unique experience. It should be profitable for the city, which should pay dividends in the long run for residents, but its going to be crazy busy and really get in the way of a lot of people's ability to go about their every day lives.

I have a friend that goes to IUPUI and we're staying there, so we're good on that.

We just plan on walking downtown and living it up. Not worried about the price of things, but I'm hoping the lines aren't too ridiculous.

We were thinking about going to Buffalo Wild Wings downtown for the game. Any idea how long we'd have to wait to get it?

Obviously you don't, but they don't take reservations even on a weekend like this, right? Surely if we were there an hour before the game, we'd be ok...at least that's what I'm hoping.

Brady has to use Peyton's locker at Lucas Oil. If I were Peyton, I'd douse that thing in ridiculous amounts of black panther cologne.
I don't think that is accurate.

Plus I could care less about a super bowl this year.

Giants and Pats ick
I think it is accurate. Patriots are the home team. They'll be using the Colts locker room so that means Brady will likely be in Manning's spot.
Lucas Oil Stadium has more than two locker rooms.

It mostly started up today and I'm over it. I'll be happy when it's over.

I'm not sure of the layout of Lucas Oil and what they'll actually do, but here's a quote from Yahoo Sports.

Quote:

I’m sure it thrills him to no end that he’ll have to clear out of the Colts’ training facility next week so that the Patriots can practice there and that New England, as the home team, will use Indy’s locker room at Lucas Oil Stadium on game day. So, it’s possible Brady will get comfortable in two of Manning’s lockers;

I'd plan on a good wait. Prolly an hour-ish. That place would be packed for a Purdue-Indiana game regardless of the Super Bowl.

The tourists and travelers will enjoy it. Not sure about the residents of the city. We aren't used to this kinda thing, that's why we live in Indianapolis
