Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

You are an smart guy idiot Brum so do yourself a favor and claim you were drunk when you posted this.
Fixed your post.

Obama admitted to doing cocaine when he was younger. As a society, we've decided that some youthful drug indiscretion is ok. Try to keep up.
When did 'youthful drug indiscretion' become intent to deal LSD and prescription drugs?

And the amount of pot he had would now automatically qualify for intent to deal by itself.
I agree he may have crossed the line, but personally, I wouldn't disqualify him from politics for mistakes made in college.
I wouldn't either, but I think you would agree that it's not beyond logic that some people would. I definitely think a candidate breaking the law (or even something like Obama's admitted cocaine use, which is against the law regardless of not being charged with a crime) is something that the media should be reporting to let the public decide.

Instead, we hear the media focus on 'issues' like Mitt Romney paying 15% of his huge income toward taxes, an attack started by someone who wants to change it to 0%. This is an issue?
So Newt is the one who started the Romney tax questions? LOL....he may have jumped on but the media get the ball rolling for him. Which pretty much shows their bias because Romney is doing nothing but follow current tax law. You acting like Newt launched the attack is laughable. I'm not sure why someone would even bring up the fact that a candidate is following the law....seems a little petty to me.

Question for you Colt, because as a democrat I don't recall it....you would follow more right leaning outlets than I --

Do you remember the media reacting to this statement by Obama:

的s capitalism really about the ability of a handful of rich people to manipulate the lives of thousands of other people and walk off with the money, or is that somehow a little bit of a flawed system?"

I don't remember it. The beauty of socialism is it eventually makes everyone poor, so you don't need to worry about the rich manipulating the system.

Nope....actually I've never heard that or read that anywhere. Now how about you drop the "gotcha" shit and tell us all who really said it. I personally have never heard Obama say that although I have pretty much stopped listening to all the lectures.....maybe he did add that line to his worn out talking points that we've all heard for 3 years now, I really wouldn't know. If you really think about it, everything is set up to make the rich an richer, alot of avenues are not open to everyone of us peons. Lotta "old money" has been intertwined with our government for a long time. Reall hard to tell the difference. Even if we as a nation experienced another big economic boom in the near future, there are gonna be rich people who get even richer. It's just the way things work. I don't fault anyone or sit around worrying about it. I didn't get into my current profession thinking I would end up being a mega millionaire, surely you didn't either? To be super wealthy you have to inherit family money, win the lottery, be a professional athlete, or be willing to take a risk in the market or by starting a business...etc. I was at a point in my particular field that I could have started my own business and probably had moderate success. I was a single father and chose to work for someone else and devote the rest of the time to my kid. It was my choice and I have lived with it with no regrets. Things could always be better and I'm sure making more money would be great but I am cool with it and I sure as hell don't envy or fault the people that took that risk and have ended up better off than I.

And one more thing, when we can get our congressmen and women, their staff members, and the members of the pentagon to pay the back taxes they owe then maybe we can talk about people like Mitt not doing his fair share. We can crucify the ones who make their money illegally and that is fine with me, but lumping all "rich" people together is gett old and petty. Btw, I was happy to see that Warren Buffets secretary was finally able to buy that second home she always dreamed of. Amazing that she could accomplish that on that measly $200,000 salary considering how unfairly she is treated when it comes to taxes.

To all the "married with children" crowd on the board....please be te first to speak up if you refuse the child and mortgage credits when filing your taxes. Pretending that the middle class get no tax breaks is a joke.

As I said before, I think it is a stupid attack and I have no idea why Gingrich would be talking about it.

Hey Colt, you why I use gotcha tactics? Because there are a lot of suckers out there.

That's a direct quote, word for word, from Newt Gingrich. Not even an old one.....it's from earlier this month.

Notice who was and was not smart enough to catch that? Lars takes any opportunity to type the word socialism and it appears he doesn't even need to read or know the content of the thread to do it.

we know why newt is doing it, he is desperate. if he were able to somehow get the nomination he would change his tune in a heartbeat. The real question is why does Obama do it? Sadly it pretty much does come down to class warfare and "rallying the base".....I'm not buying it or liking it. A guy whose wife goes out and spends 50K on underwear in the position she is in and in the shape our economy is in needs to quit throwing those stones. Its laughable.

LOL....do you believe everything you read? I'm sure Beck and the ilk are running on the whole 'Michelle Obama spent $50,000 on underwear'. The store denies it, the White House denies, and the Daily Telegraph uses it in their Headline but doesn't mention it in their article nor quote any sources.

I'm sure that the Obama's are storing the $50,000 receipt in the lockbox containing Barack's Kenyan birth certificate.

Regardless if the story is true or false, the WH denying it is not a good argument. With the money these people have made, it really is not all that crazy of a story. Many "stars" and high profile people spend that kind of money on their shopping sprees or just on a whim. Hell, maybe they deserve it and it keeps the economy going as good as it is? The way they vacation (her leaving early to Hawaii....etc), it wouldn't really surprise me that much at all.

I am admittedly no Michelle Obama fan.......full disclosure. Call me racist...I'm sure that is whats coming next.

A simple 'I was incorrect' would suffice.

Newt made a socialist statement, and was called out by many conservatives over it. Not sure why you guys think you pulled one over on me.

Honestly I don't see what the big deal is if she DID spend that much. I am not stupid, I understand it will be exploited by their opponents. I just think it is stupid for people to latch on it. Hey guess what rich people spend a lot of money on shit. I think it is ridiculous for people to expect people that are multi-millionaires to live like they are middle class. I mean I would hope I wouldn't just be stupid and blow all my money but I can guarantee I would be living a different lifestyle than I am now and so would all of you.
