Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Tom Brady. Yeah I said it.
Yeah, if Manning was healthy, Brady would be him, Brees, and Rodgers in my book.
Huh?
Behind him, Brees, and Rodgers**
Interesting. Right this minute? Career?
Obviously right now Manning isn't in the discussion because of his injury. But I think that at the top of their games, I'd take those 3 over Brady if I were making a team.
If I were making a team...somebody is going to have to explain where I got the money to do so.

That's a pretty good one.

Wes Welker
Ooh. I don't know about this one. Who else would you like to have in the slot?
That's kind of the thing, though....he's a slot reciever.

Anyway, this season I think it's pretty easy to argue that if you put Victor Cruz in Welker's position that he puts up even bigger numbers...Cruz basically didn't play the first two weeks and then put up over 1,500 yards in the last 14 weeks. The most telling stat to me: Victor Cruz averaged over 12 yards per time TARGETED -- about what Welker averaged per RECEPTION.

That said, I wouldn't call Welker overrated....but Cruz is incredibly underrated.
Gotta also keep in mind that Cruz spent a lot of time on the outside this year after taking over for Manningham. Plus Nicks didn't play every game which made Cruz the #1. Deeper routes and better numbers. I still agree with you though.
I consider Nicks to be a very good reciever, but how is this for a stat:

Nicks was targeted more times than Cruz (133 to 131) but had both fewere receptions (76 to 82) and 344 less yards than Cruz.

BTW, how great was my pickup of Cruz after week two in our fantasy football league? At the time he had 2 catches for 17 yards....I had planned on playing him for a week with the Giants injuries and going from there. He never left my lineup.

Too bad the rest of my moves sucked.

Also keep in mind no one paid any attention to Cruz until it was too late. Even late in the season against the Jets, Darelle Revis was on Nicks while Cruz ran wild. Nicks was demanding double teams and Cruz was running free in the secondary as if he had a disease. Against the Packers, they doubled Cruz and Nicks blew up. I'm just not sure there's a way to take them both away.

I love Cruz, don't get me wrong. But I also watched every game this year and know that Cruz had a pretty easy go of it for a long time.

Josh Hamilton (good player...but Texas is the AL equivalent of Coors Field)

Sad to hear he's recently had an alcohol relapse too.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Probably turned to drink after hearing how much Detroit paid for Fielder.
