Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

What are some of the venues/events you want to attend before you die? Mine in no particular order:

Madison Square Garden for the Big East Tournament
A Big 5 basketball game at the Palestra
Lambeau Field
The Big House
Red River Shootout
The Rose Bowl
Cameron Indoor
Hayward Field
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I've been to the big House a handful of times, and it's fun, but pretty uncomfortable for someone of my size. I always think the best thing about places like that is the atmosphere and hanging out all day before the game.

Candlestick Park/Whatever their new stadium is called
Football game at Notre Dame
Cameron Indoor
Hoosier Gym in Knightstown (movie Hoosiers)
Fenway Park
Yankee Stadium

Any World Cup match
Old Trafford for a Man United game
A USMNT vs Mexico match
Any Tennis Major, preferably Wimbledon
Cameron Indoor
Fenway Park
Yankee Stadium
The Masters
A Final 4/Championship game

Probably many others, but those are just a few off the top of my head.

Come and join in song together, shout with might and main. Our beloved Alma Mater, sound her praise again. Gloriana Frangipana, E'er to her be true. She's the pride of Indiana, Hail to Old IU!

I played and hit a game winning shot in one of the away gyms in Hoosiers.

Yeah, I prolly should have added Fenway and the Masters.

"Yankee Stadium" is dead to me now.

I forget which game it was in the movie, but it was St. Phillip Neri grade school's gym in Indianapolis. It was a really neat place.

Edit: it was the game that Coach Dale got kicked out of

Final Four tickets are easy to get, if you do not mind nosebleeds. they have a lottery every year. I was in N.O . for the 2003 FF and I have tickets this year.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

I have always said I wanted to go to a championship for every major sporting event. As I have gotten older though I care less and less about attending the Superbowl in person. I actually had a chance to go the year the Rams played the titans, but just didnt have the money, and now like I said it has lost its luster. At this point I would be happy just to attend a playoff game I went to the PGA championship a few years back when it was in Tulsa so I can scratch that off. Beyond that though.
Football game at ND stadium
IU game at ass hall - I fully intend to do this next season.
Fenway
wrigley for a Cubs - Cards game

Being a huge college football fan, I would love go to a game at each of the SEC schools as well as the Big House, the Red River Rivalry, and Autzen stadium

I know it is not in South Bend, but Notre Dame plays Oklahoma in Norman in 2012. Season ticket holders get first dibs on extras if you have any desire to go. I am not sure when we re-up. Drop me a note if you are interested, better than even odds I can get an extra set.
