Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

...but added Beltran. I see the Brewers and the Cards pretty even. Considering both lost their stars, the Cards have more added value coming back with Wainright....but the original conversation was started in reference to the Reds being the favorite....which I can't see.
That doesn't even remotely compare to losing Pujols. I'll say this, getting Wainwright back could be bigger than losing Pujols, but the Cards still have a TON of injury concerns. Here's a list of guys that are projected to start for them with either and injury history or concern.

Freese
Beltran
Berkman
Wainwright
Furcal
Craig
Holliday
Lohse

With a full, healthy team I think they will be very good. The chances of them being a full healthy team very long stretched this year? Slim to none.

Hold on a minute...this has turned into an NL thread...

Considering changing the name of the thread to "2011 Extreme Bunts"

br
or 'sixteen more teams that are better than the Mariners'.

The Mariners are in a league of their own.

every team has a chance that players get injured....so I guess I should state it better. If the Cards, Brewers, and Reds all stay healthy, I think the Brewers and Cards are better on paper than the Reds.

Freese, Holiday, Berkman, Furcal, Beltran, and Lohse were all healthy at the end of last season.......are you basing your analysis on the possibility of them getting reinjured? All reports that I've read are that Wainright and Craig are about where they should be. There are alot of players in the MLB who have been injured before.

As I said, guys with a history of injury (like Furcal) or with a current injury concern (like Craig). Of course any player can get injured, but when 7 of your 9 starters have a history of injuries or current injury concern I'm not sure anyone can reasonably expect that the team stays healthy the majority of the season.

Colt, Berkman and Carpenter already getting cortisone shots and it's only spring training. I'd cross those fingers if I were you.

I hear this every year.

FYI, we won the World Series without Wainright....it's why they have a 40 man roster
