Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

If he ends up being a stud, then it can be argued it wasn't a terrible trade, but 2 firsts and a second to move up 4 spots is pretty ridiculous. Like I said though, franchise quarterbacks are invaluable, and if he turns out being one, then I can't knock the trade.
THREE first rounders and a 2nd. This year's first, next year's first, the next years first and this year's second.

By comparison, the Giants gave up the this year's 1st, next year's first and this year's 3rd to essentially move up 3 spots and take Eli Manning #1 overall. The Redskins gave up a whole 1st round pick and 2nd instead of 3rd to do the same thing. That is paying WAY too much.
Agreed...and I hope Bri's crystall ball can look forward 5 years. How can a guy say he'd do it 10 out of 10 times using the kids first 5 yrs in the league when the kid hasn't even been drafted yet? Seems like a pretty silly statement to me. Hell, didn't it take Eli 4 seasons to be an "above average" quarterback?

Above-average "for" 5 years.

There aren't many QBs that are above average for 5 years. And my statement was an "IF" statement. Doesn't seem as ridiculous to me...

So, if and only if, after 5 yrs he still isnt an "above average" qb then you would say it was a bad deal?

He has to be an above average qb for the 1st five years of his career? Without looking it up, I would think that that rarely happens in the NFL. Was Peyton above average in year 1? They went 3-13.

Question for Colt fans, does seeing what St. Louis got for the 2nd pick change any of your minds for getting rid of Manning or make your even more pissed they got rid of him?

it had nothing to do with that. Irsay and Manning talked about Manning going somewhere he could win a SB at. It was not going to happen here even with all those picks.

If he wins them the Superbowl it was worth it, anything short and it was a terrible trade. Reason being is that there's past precedence which says they gave up more than necessary. No team had ever given up 3 1st before and then to throw in a 2nd is just asinine. St. Louis got the absolute maximum possible out of this trade. Even 5 good years out of QB can't make up for POSSIBLY 3 top 10 picks and a 2nd rounder. RGIII needs to be better than that to give this trade any credence.

I know it had nothing to with it, just asking what Colts fan think of it.

Then I disagree with you. The skins overpaid, he'll need to be better than that.

+1.

It's an incredibly dysfunctional organization, one that thinks that taking a big name in FA and throwing ridiculous money (see: Albert Haynesworth) that way can overcome an inability to draft or have an actual plan.

Do you think Manning and Chris johnson can co-exist?
