Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

I wouldn't say the Titans will have "a major push" anymore than the Dolphins will. Reports are neither is going to be given the opportunity to give a full push like Denver or Arizona was.

Honestly, I don't understand that from Manning's POV. My opinion is that the offensive tools that the Titans and Dolphins have are way ahead of what Denver and Arizona have. The Dolphins already have a true #1 receiver and maybe the penultimate receiving back in Reggie Bush; the Titans have the best back of any of the teams and as enemy says, he is an excellent receiving back. Arizona has Larry Fitzgerald but the rest of their receivers (including Beanie Wells) aren't very good and they don't have a line that protects their quarterbacks. Denver's receivers are horrible and Willis MacGahee is an absolutely horrible fit for a Manning offense.
I don't think I would call Denver's wide receivers horrible. They definitely lack a # 1 guy but they have cap room to bring a guy like that in which I'm sure they would for Peyton. I know it's been said that Reggie is likely to follow so I feel like that would make Denver's wide receiving corps pretty respectable.
That ended up going out of the window.

Anyway, Eric Decker is very pedestrian. Regardless of how bad Denver threw the ball, Decker was below average in his numbers even for the Broncos. He was targeted 95 times and caught 44 -- a 46% completion rate compared to the team's 50% -- and was right at the team's average in yards per pass on passes thrown his way.

Yes it did but that doesn't mean they can't still find someone to bring in.

I refuse to base much of an opinion on a wide receiver's performance off of one year with Tebow throwing them the ball.

Rumors now that Manning has started to put teams in order....Arizona looks to be last of the four, Denver and another team rumored to be leading, although some sources say that is Miami and some say it is Tennessee. He's expected to now see what contract terms are offered.

I can't help but think Tenn has the advantage of allowing Manning to destroy the Colts twice a year.

The one thing I found funny was Bud Adams saying that Manning was the player 'to lead them to the playoffs'.

The Titans were 9-7 and missed the playoffs on a tiebreaker. Wouldn't one assume that you would that they'd be setting the bar a little bit higher than just making the playoffs?

I'm sure it's the Colts fan in me saying this, but I just don't see it in him to want to stick it to the Colts. The distractions and hooplah around those two games every year doesn't seem like something he'd enjoy.

Arizona makes the most sense to me.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

I dunno. Manning is intensely competitive. They're dumping him for a rookie. I think he'd love to pound them into the ground twice a year.

The team that makes the most sense is probably Denver because they have the best defense. He doesn't need to go to a team with established offensive weapons. He CREATES offensive weapons. He should go to the team that's better on the other side of the ball.

IMO, the key to his health and longevity in the league is going to the team with the best offensive line. He is 35/36 coming off of 4 neck procedures. If you think he was slow and immobile before, hard to imagine that part improving in any way. The defense and running game will be needed for any playoff possibilities but the line is necessary for him to even be on the field, IMO.

From accounts I've heard, Arizona is now fourth on his list.

Where's Denver? I haven't been able to keep up on it much.

Miami is out. Manning has informed them he would not be signing there. Better sooner than later....Dolphins are thought to be the leader for Flynn now.

My bet is on Denver, although I think the surrounding talent is the worst fit for him. McGahee is the anti-Manning type of back -- a power type of back with receiving hands of stone. Poor receivers as well and Reggie Wayne will not be an option. But it will likely be the team that most likely will give him the greatest leeway in running the offense.

Apparently the 49ers are one of the finalists now. Wow, I didn't see that coming with Harbaugh's recent support of Alex Smith.

If you're Peyton though, SF would be a great choice. They run the ball well, have 2 really good TEs and their receiving corps is pretty solid as well. In addition they probably have the best defense in the league.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
