Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I wouldn't be surprised if they look at injuries. I mean, let's say a team had three starters suspended indefinitely this week...I'm sure that'd drop their seeding significantly.

br
We have our sixth man out and another guy whose ankle injury made him miss exactly three minutes of game time....if there was any kind of significant injury, he certainly wouldn't have returned to what ultimately isn't a game of any meaning. While the NCAA may look at injuries, there certainly isn't anything that should affect anything.
Are you saying Verdell's injury won't affect anything or am I reading that wrong?
We I said it 'shouldn't affect anything', I meant it shouldn't affect our seeding.
Got it. I was gonna say, you're not one of them, are you?

I'm putting down 5...because it just seems like we're going to get dicked here...

br
If we get a 5, I will be extremely pissed.

Is the committee supposed to take injuries into consideration? If so, then I guess I could see it happening.
We had all th sampson craziness factor against us in 07-08.

They certainly do. Purdue went from a 1 to a 4 because of Hummel's injury in '10.

I don't think Jones' injury will have that sort of affect though.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Palm (CBS), Lunardi (ESPN), and Glockner (SI) all have IU as a 4-seed this morning. I'd say that means if we don't get a 4-seed we got screwed.

I think IU deserves a 4, but a combination of the loss on Friday and Jones getting hurt could drop them to a 5, and that's what I voted. But really who cares about the difference between a 4 and 5?

...I'll go ahead and GUARANTEE a 4 seed...i don't think we deserve a 3...BOOK IT, muthafuckahs...

...sure would be nice if it happened in Nashville...that is too good to be true though...
If it ends up being in Nashvegas, do you have a spare bedroom by chance?

Ummm...me. And probably any team that's in the 4/5 seed region.

The 5-12 matchup is notorious for upsets. 5 seeds are upset 28% in the first round, compared to just 19% for the 4 seeds. That's a pretty big difference IMO.

I agree with bri, but I put down a 4 because I think that's where we should be. Not being a homer, but if you finished the season ranked #15th in the nation with wins over UK, MSU, OSU, and a couple of decent road wins, it boils down to simple logic, IMO.

Even so, most people out there just aren't going to 'believe' until we stick it in their faces next year.

Upon second look, it looks like we might drop to 5 seed. I think if either Vandy or FSU wins they will pass us. FSU may have already passed us. If they both pass us, we would almost assuredly be a 5 seed. The good news is, we may get the 5 seed in Nashville. If one of those two loses, we have a decent shot at a 4 out west.

Rarely do I root for UK, but I'm rooting for them now...

Not seen it talked about much, mainly because I don't visit the PU side that often, but whaddya guys think? Do they come in at around a 9 or 10? I could be way off, other than their conference/out of conference W/L records, I don't really pay much attention to who they're playing.

lunardi already has FSU as a 4 seed so that wouldnt really matter if they win

As much as it pains me to say it (I'd hate to see them get #8), and the fact that IU isn't quite strong enough to win the NT this year, I wouldn't mind UK being undefeated until we see them in December next year.

How fitting would it be to dick stomp these cocksuckers on their home floor while they're having to watch the Watford replay the entire game. I'll never guarantee a win under any circumstance, but we're going to give them all they want in Lexington next year.

He has them as a 4-seed, but if I remember correctly, he also has them behind IU on the S-curve. So if they win, they will pass IU on the S-curve, putting us as the last 4-seed. If Vandy passed us too that would put us as a 5-seed based on his projections.

Also, I've seen other projections with FSU as 5. Regardless, you don't want teams passing you at the least minute. The fewer teams in front of us, the better chance we have at a good seed.

I guess that's one difference between IU and Purdue fans. Purdue fans expect to win the first round, and then the 4 and 5 make absolutely no difference...

I kid!! I kid!! :P
