Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

The Dolphins traded 2 2nd round picks for Marshall and 2 years later trade him away for 2 3rd round picks. Not sure it was worth it.

Congrats to Bears fans. He is definitely worth the picks.

Have heard some rumors about what the Dolphins will do with the cap space/free agency/trades to offset the loss. Unless some of the rumors are true, it's a head scratcher.

I like it. It will have the added bonus of allowing them more flexibility in the draft. They won' feel pressure to take a risk in the first round on a WR.
Also saw that they signed Jason Campbell to back up Cutler. Also a good move. A damn sight better than Caleb Hanie.

Unless you get them for ridiculously cheap, I've never been a big believer in trading for a player; not only do you give up picks, but you have to pay their salary as well.

There are so many good players in the draft that giving up picks is hard for me to swallow to begin with, especially if they are good picks. Plus, with the cap on salaries in the NFL, that money could be used elsewhere.

I think Marshall is really good, and initially I really liked the trade for the Bears, but when I have time to think about it more, it's not as good as it seems on the surface, IMO.

I don't think 2 3rd round picks is a lot to give up for a guy who's in his prime and produces at a high level. Plus, he's already worked with Cutler in the past.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I'm assuming their chemistry is good...

I don't think the picks in itself is a ton to give up, but when you throw in the salary, it's a different story.

I think it's a good trade for the Bears, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad trade for the Dolphins either. They have a new coach that now has more picks to draft his type of guys. Plus, they coach in Miami, so they shouldn't have a problem picking up his type of FAs with the extra cap space as well. Good trade for both teams.

Great trade for the Bears. I have been waiting on a true #1 WR for many years.

The Dolphins picked him two years ago for two seconds. He was with us two years....and IMO, his two years was worth two seconds. The Bears will get more than two third round picks worth if he does nothing more than give them a solid year.

Picks are gambles, especially outside the first round. If you stockpile them -- like the Patriots do -- they are worth it because you are going to hit on some. If all you are doing is adding a couple picks, not so much.

I'm a Dolphins fan and don't like the trade for us. I'm sure that we will do something to try to shore up the receiving corps but we regardless of Marhsall's baggage, he produces and is a known quantity. Chicago will love how physical a receiver he is.

His attitude is the only thing that will hold him back. That and knifing/being knifed by his fiancée.

He was diagnosed with a borderline disorder last year. To his credit, when he revealed he spent almost an hour in a press conference and answered every question and seemed sincere about wanting to help attention to social disorders.

Hopefully he is able to cope and live well with his disorder. It was a social disorder that basically ended Khalil Greene's career.

Didn't know that. Like I alluded to, the guy is immensely talented that if he can figure out the mental part of the game/life he will absolutely be one of the best receivers in the NFL.

Well, it appears there was one thing that hastened Miami to move Marshall.

Might be nothing, but if there is anything to it that would be the second incident in 11 months.

I understand social disorders so I don't want to make light of all of them, but Marshall said he has "Borderline Personality Disorder". I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I know lots of people with borderline personalities. They're called assholes.
