  • NCAA Tournament 2012 Predictions: What Experts Say About the Indiana Hoosiers
Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

It doesn't surprise me that most have us losing to New Mexico St. in the first round. In fact, it truly wouldn't surprise me if we did get beat.

It's just impossible for me to imagine how an entire IU team with no tourney experience is going to perform. Pretty sure I've never seen this scenario, at least from an IU squad.

Out of the 8 guys on CBS, only 1 has IU losing to NMSU. Two of them have IU in the sweet 16.

I LOVE the fact that all the "experts" are picking against IU. This team plays SO much better with a chip on their shoulder. I think IU wins against NMS and against Wichita to have a rematch against the young cats... I can't wait for the game. I think the writer said it best when he said, the Hoosiers need to prepare for the game, not the event. That could be the only thing I see derailing this team but I think they come to play and make a point!

When would you say IU played with a chip on their shoulder? The Kentucky game?

I'm not a big believer of the whole playing better with a chip on the shoulder argument. All these guys should be able to get up and play their best in a big game without any additional motivation.

Ehhh, maybe not playing with a chip on your shoulder, but I do think it impacts preparation.

Watford is really the only guy where I can tell a noticeable difference if we're playing Iowa as opposed to Michigan St. With that being said, he seems to have played pretty well (and competed) in the big games this year, so I expect him to play with some intensity tomorrow and really contribute.

That's true and for all the talk about how good a rebounding team NMSU is, we outrebounded MSU when we played them last. Even if we lose the rebounding battle, I'm not sure I see us getting dominated.

you would think this team would come into this game with huge hard ons - so big, in fact, they would need specially fitted cups and shorts.

For the record, New Mexico State's player's NCAA tourney experience consists of three guys playing in one loss. Combined, those three were five of seventeen from the field.

Also, for the record, they won their eight team conference tourney by beating the 5, 6, and 7 seeds.
