Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I can't wait til we off those fucking cocky pricks AGAIN. Then they will literally have NOTHING to say to us. NOTHING.

Can't wait to shut them up, their heads are swollen up again. Terrance Jones won't have an "off" game likely again, but we can shut down Lamb, Miller, and Teague...... MKG, Davis, and likely Jones will get theirs. But they can't win a game just the 3 of them. We're WAY too balanced. It's going to be a fun game to watch, but I honestly think we match up great with them. I'll take our best 5 against theirs anytime of the week. They haven't had to work for shit, it was always given to them. Our team has the biggest chip on their shoulder in the nation..... have throughout most of this season. Here to prove something. Coach Crean didn't win COY and we have the biggest turnaround in the nation by like 4 or 5 games. Everyone has picked against us since Round 1. We're back to the "back against the wall" scenario, and we ALWAYS play up to that shit. I love it. I hope UK runs their fat Blue gums all week. I know they won't let me down.

Maybe this should be in the other thread, but I'm just going to say it right now.....I'm 26, and I follow the Hoosiers more now than I did 10 years ago, but I've never looked forward to a game more than this one.

It would be interesting to hear from some of the older folks where this game ranks in terms of anticipation...Brum, Aaron, Dedicated, what say you?

Let 'em talk. The best they can do is even the series this year with us. They're SUPPOSED to win this game...

I can't get over the fact that IF we do manage to beat them again, we are one win away from the Final Four! How sweet it would be to be the ones to knock KY out of the tourny and then that top ranked recruiting class home. Im already so proud of our boys, I can't stop smiling.

Well, this game rates up their but the one they got when they knocked us out of the tourney in 1975 rates up their more. But this is just their mentality, they have so much hatred for IU fans, it is to real to describe. I have cousins in Kensucky that wanted to beat my ass everytime I came down wearing IU gear. For some reason, their fans are more jealous of us than we are of them. Remember, they are inbred.

I think this game will be a great game, and if we win, will definitely be as sweet as any win we had in the NCAA tourney, except for the National Title Games. But if we lose, I won't lose any sleep because we are suppose to lose and I am really proud of this teams accomplishments this year. Next year will be a different story. I would love to beat them twice, beats the hell out of splitting with them. ;)

UK should win this game going away. as far as i'm concerned, this season is a massive success and that in no way can be diminished by any loss on friday. of course i'm cheering hard for the hoosiers and will be (at least momentarily) devastated with a loss...but kentucky should win this game hands down.

good question Obat....I'm 33 so my perspective is only a little further back than yours, but to answer the question...apparently these IU moments come in 10 year intervals.

2002: Indiana vs Duke in the sweet 16. The IU booster club in Fort Wayne had rented out a movie theater to broadcast the game (very cool by the way). We knew this team was good, but nobody really expected to make it to the title game that year...however a game against Duke is always intense from a fan perspective, and I know we spent the entire week getting pumped up for it.

1992: Indiana vs Duke again. This was the BEST IU team that I had ever personally watched, especially prior to losing Henderson for the season. Everyone knew we could beat Duke, and had 6th banner potential....and at 14 years old basketball was more than life for me, so this was just an absolute HUGE game in my life's history of IU basketball.

All that being said, the recent departure of Knight in 2002 took some luster off of the game for me, and the loss of Henderson in 1992 dimmed our spirits a little bit as well....just enough to make this Friday's game a notch above those previous 2 for me!

Here's a few historic links from the above

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

The position we're in now is a little different IMO...we were expected to win back then, not usually the underdog to 13 and 12 seeds in the tourney. The 92 team was my favorite by far, and losing henderson was deflating to say the least, but what a team! I think this is the biggest KY vs IU game I remember, although I was at the game when mike davis ran on the court after the loss when bracey botched the layup...this game is bigger because of the first game results and where we are now...both 92 and 93 were tough to swallow...of course after that it was first round exit year after year damn near...but those teams were so fun to watch!
