Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

Like I've said all year...we may not be the best team in the country but we are by no means going to be an easy out...even for the best team in the country.

I think we have a lot better shot at beating Kentucky than any other team still in the tournament. Why? Because we have a talented big that can challenge davis on the block. We are one of the best shooting teams in the country. Defensively we are still improving. And more importantly we've done it before.

I like that no one gives us a shot to win. Makes it that much sweeter when we prove all the haters wrong. This team has guts! Everytime it looks like we are on the ropes, something positive happens. Like Coach Crean said after the win on saturday, its scary how much this team has the will and determination to get the job done. The focus level has changed from regular season to post season and thats what good teams do.

We definitely have a better shot than anybody else in the tournament. We don't just want to win and go to the next round, we want to beat Kentucky. I personally think Kentucky is the most overrated team in the country. They're a NBA d-league team. Everybody is in love with Calipari. Fact to the matter is that he can't win unless he is paying players, or getting top 5 recruits. They've beaten good teams at home....not too many on the road. We are better now than we were then. We can win if we play better defense, and shoot the ball better. If VO can drive the lane then maybe we can get Jones and/or Davis in foul trouble.

The more UK fans talk, the more confident I feel about the game. Our boys KNOW they can do it, they have, they just have to play their asses off for a full 40, and maybe then some.

Matty Ice has been quiet so far, I think he comes up with some huge 3's for us. More importantly, we've GOT to get Ant Davis in foul trouble again. We can go on runs with him out of the game. MKG absolutely destroyed us last game. I'm not sure who's going to get his defensive assignment, but whoever does is going to have their hands full. Once again, Teague being from Indiana, I think this game is a little more personal/emotional for him than any other hes played. I can see him getting rattled, or then again, I can see him going off. Either way, I feel fine going into this game. Our guys believe in one another, and we've gone through more as a group than ANY of the other 15 teams have. UK doesn't intimidate our guys. They're like wait....... We've heard this all before.

I bet t jones doesnt flop again though... and chances of getting davis in foul trouble again are slim... I bet we do a better job defensively on MKG and tegue will be a non factor... overall the game is decided by 6 pts or less with my vote going to the hoosiers

What a story we would have to tell our grandchildren one day if we could pull this one off. Against all odds we beat the Cats twice in a season. Not to mention if we win this game we have a pretty decent road to the final four. I'm putting Baylor on upset alert. I think Xavier is going to win. If thats the case, I love our chances if we can pull off the upset friday!

I noticed when we have VO and Abell in the game at the same time, it equals defensive pressure. What would you think about starting Abell over Hulls to start the game defensively and bring in a fresh Hulls about five minutes into the game when the KY guards have a few minutes of wear and see if he can light it up?

In the VCU game, when we were down, we have VO and Abell in there and they put a stop to a lot of their scoring.

so Myron Medcalf put this in his 6 bold Sweet 16 predictions...

1.Kentucky will beat Indiana by 15 or more -- Vengeance is coming. On Dec. 10, Indiana defeated the Wildcats on a Christian Watford buzzer-beater. The shot stamped Indiana’s revival as “official.” But the Hoosiers aren’t playing that Kentucky team this weekend. The Wildcats have evolved. I think Indiana has matured, too. But Kentucky will make a statement in this matchup. Think “Scarface.” These players have had to watch that game, that shot, all season. They’ve lost only twice, but they’re reminded of the defeat in Bloomington often. I think we’ll see the most impressive effort from the Wildcats that we’ve watched all season. They’re not going to beat the Hoosiers. They’re going to crush them. Indiana gets full credit for the December win over Kentucky, but you can’t overlook the fact that Anthony Davis picked up early fouls and the Hoosiers surged past the Wildcats when the freshman of the year was on the bench. That was one of the few games in which Davis suffered from foul trouble. Won’t happen again. And Davis will be a constant force. And the Wildcats will avenge that earlier defeat with a “someone throw in the towel” assault of the Hoosiers.

Just a poorly written paragraph, whatever you think of the prediction.

That sounds like the opposite of full credit actually.

And the Wildcats are better! And dunk 100 times. And they will spit on the IU logo. And....

To think he was paid to write that poorly, and to give the backhanded compliment.

Let's face it....ESPN and CBS don't want to see IU you make a run and possibly win a championship this year. Next year when we are supposed to be top 5 then great. IU would definitely be an underdog to win it this year. That's not nearly as cool as George Mason, VCU, or Butler winning it when you already have 5 banners.

I don't think ESPN or CBS (except maybe Goodman) don't want to see IU win it. I just don't think they believe it's possible. I mean, we're a nice story and we've been great to cover all season, but win the tourney? The nice story doesn't win the tourney. We're supposed to be "back" and better than last year, we're not supposed to be the best.

And truthfully, who can blame them? Raise your hand if you thought before the season that this team was capable of winning the championship. See? No raised their hand because this is a message board. Fact is, many of the experts look at where we were last year and just don't think it's possible for a team to change THAT drastically in 1 year. I mean really, if we were to win it'd probably be one of the greatest turnaround's by a team in sports history. I can't fault any expert who simply doesn't think that's going to happen. They're just taking the better bet.

What drives me crazy is they act like Davis started the game with 2 fouls. There's a reason he was in foul trouble; IU took it to him and he had to face one of the best big men in the country. Cody gets no love for being the main reason Davis didn't play many minutes!
