Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

A bit of a Shaka, if you ask me. However, I'm glad because I think he would have tore up the Chicago recruiting scene.

Damn. I think he would have been a great addition to the Big Ten. If you're Illinois, you have to be pretty beside yourself that you couldn't lure away the coach from VCU, right?

There's a Des Moines south of Seattle, and it's pronounced with the trailing "s". If you're going to butcher a French name, why not go all in?

Not that surprising. Lower expectations, more freedom, and (if I remember my numbers right, which I'm pretty sure I do) he's already making 1.2 mill at VCU, and Bruce's salary was 1.4 mill. Lateral money, more pressure, more risk of failure, maybe better recruiting, but I don't think that's a given. Seems pretty Smart to me.

I think he would have gotten a nice pay hike compared to what Bruce was making. At least in the 2s.

An instant pay hike above what they had budgeted before? I dunno...

I think with Purdue putting over $2.3 mil for Painter than Illinois will hit the $2 mark with their next coach. No lower than $1.8 I think.

I would expect Illinois to shell out at least $2 million to get a high-level coach. Then again, I know Illinois is not in the greatest financial situation since they've fired all 3 major coaches in a single year.

I will do the job for 1 mill, and I promise I can get at least as many wins as Bruce.
