Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

This contract is well deserved and will likely be the best contract in the history of baseball.

This is probably the worst one out of all three, especially when you consider the team and market size of who gave it.

Out of all 3? You mean out of Pujols, Fielder and Votto? Cuz the Yanks have some contracts way worse than this.

Yes, out of the 3 big contracts given to 1B this year.

I dunno. Pujols will be under contract at the age of 42 for $30 million. Fielder's contract ends when he is 36, but I think with his body he won't be as productive as Votto at that age. Votto is right in the middle. The plus for Fielder and Pujols is that they can DH.

But all this is besides the point. Votto's contract is the best because he's JOEY VOTTO. Enough said.

They're all absurd, but at least with Detroit and the Angels, they can afford to take a financial hit towards the end of the deal if need be. Cinci is a mid-market team, and if he doesn't perform well, that will be a huge albatross on their organization.

Joey Votto and I have a long established relationship. I'm surprised you forgot.

I was wondering if there was an initial reason, not for a thread where you praise him 40 different times :D

He single-handedly won me money in one of my fantasy leagues that year.

Missed that part, although when I saw the linked thread was 25 pages, I didn't proceed much further.

How much money, or is that too nosy?

$25. Nothing extravagant. The thing is, I was joining a keeper league that had been running for 3 years already. So I had to build my team from scratch after all the leftovers from guys that weren't kept. Votto was gold.

Excited to have him again. Already having one of the best fantasy years I've ever had.
