Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

This is incredibly sad and to be quite frank I can't help but think there has to be more to it. How many soccer players have collapsed in the last year alone? This is ridiculous. Is this a sheer numbers game? That soccer being the most popular sport in the world means more people are playing it and therefore more of this stuff happens? Is there some sort of crazy workout regime these guys go through that could lead to this? Do they not receive the proper nourishment? I mean what the fuck.

The strange thing is that you didnt really hear any of this kind of stuff in the past 10 to 20 years......poor reporting or is this a relatively new "epidemic"? Are new preservatives being used in food? Pesticides or agricultural fertilizers? It is weird...it could be many things or it could be mere coincidence. Are heart attacks up across the population?

I mean I imagine heart attacks are up due to obesity, but 25 year old professional soccer players? This is insane. Some sort of PED maybe? I don't know.

heart attacks need not be related to obesity. see jim fixx and hank gathers among numerous others.

however, heart attacks can be abetted by exertion. football (soccer) can be brutal in that respect. put bartolo colon on the football pitch for 10 minutes and we've probably lost a legend...
