I figured that...you've been pretty consistant (after you came down from your racist-accusational high ;) ) on the concept that Martin had the right to defend himself because he was being followed. |

Right. And in my post taking into account all current known witnesses and facts, I've pretty much boiled this case down to how the actual physical confrontation was initiated. |

that's a fair way to look at it. Within that, do you think that it amounts to who "thew the 1st punch", or do you think that there are non-physical actions that Zimmerman could have done which justified Martin in beating him up? |

I think it does not necessarily come down to who threw the first punch. After following Martin in his car and then chasing after him, I think Martin would be justified in throwing the first punch had Zimmerman found a way to corner him or had confronted him if they ran into each other again. Also if Martin saw Zimmerman's gun as they were sizing each other up. Of course we'll never know that, but still, I believe Zimmerman's previous actions that night are enough to make Martin think his life was in danger. The only scenario I can see that condemns Martin is the same one as Zimmerman's story. If Zimmerman was walking back to his truck or waiting at his truck and Martin ambushed him, then I think Zimmerman's right to defend himself has been restored. I'm with dreach on this, and I didn't question his abrasions on his head. I said that by witness accounts, the confrontation happened in the grass. I was trying to figure out where this other confrontation happened, or if there was another one at all. For me, it's what happened before hand that I question and who initiated the confrontation in the first place. I know you're looking for your big gotcha moment for the day, I wish you well |

sorry, but you're wrong...I just read through all my posts, and I didn't question them at all, just wanted to know where the concrete came into play. Keep trying 12 year old |

I lost it a long time ago. I've seen too much garbage like this in my 46 years that nothing surprises me when it comes to a person (or company) making money. I stopped "looking for the good" in people years ago. Other than your family, if you have one true friend in this world, consider yourself extremely lucky. Now...let me go stare out my screen door and wait to yell at the kids walking across my lawn... :gun: |

No, it was just a joke. I wouldn't waste my time staring out the door, window, whatever, the kids in the neighborhood are really well behaved and are about the same age as my kids. It wouldn't bother me either way. But back on topic, it baffles me as to why anyone would walk around the neighborhood carrying a loaded gun. Maybe in big cities, I don't really know, but growing up in a small town, I will simply never understand it. |

You'd have to be one dedicated son of a gun to be willing to get 2 black eyes, a broken nose, and head lacerations just to reach your "goal" of stalking and committing a hate crime on a black man.... |

true. I never really looked at this as a hate crime. There have been some houses broken into. some kids were caught who were black. Zimmerman saw a black kid walking down the sidewalk late one night while raining, I can understand him thinking he may be up to no good. But once he called 911 he should have called it a day. He did his job, getting out of the truck to pursue him was a bad idea, especially knowing he had a gun on him. |

Is there something about two black eyes that I missed? I'm not seeing it. Also, I don't believe I ever mocked Martin beating up on Zimmerman. I did say that I don't think rationally that Zimmerman's life was in danger. |
