they just played the 911 call from a neighbor for the first time.... you can hear screaming in the background and then the gunshot... it's evident someone was struggling outside but hard to decipher who's voice it was |

Holy Shit....I hope MsJaz will retract her comments about TM's girlfriend being honest. [utube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCSHJCwOi1U[/utube] "Creepy Ass Cracker" isn't racial, and calling someone a creepy ass cracker isn't offensive, but repeating it is disrespectful. |

I have no idea about this judge, but IMO an unbiased judge in any situation is extremely rare. I have been in front of a half dozen or so, some in my favor some not, but all biased. |

I'm no expert in court room legalities but I watched about 4+ hrs of the trial and saw both defense and prosecution examine witnesses and she allowed pretty much everything from the prosecution while she would stop the defense even without objection from the prosecution... And you could just tell she was much more patient with the prosecution than the defense Edit: keep in mind this purely opinion based on my part Edited by dut1101, Jun 27 2013, 03:39 PM.

Seems she allowed the cross examination to go on for a long time including repeated questions from the defense which has really frustrated and deteriorated Jeantel's testimony. So far, the case has broken largely in favor of Zimmerman so if the judge is biased, she's either not doing much about it or can't. |

Human nature, I would say. I would say all of us here are definitely leaning one way or the other prior to the trial. In the case of judges (don't know the exact percent) many are former lawyers who are definitely very highly opinionated people...a trait that I don't think can simply be turned off once they are behind the bench. |

I suppose my surprise was more that they would be actively biased while in the act of judging. |

Dreach, it's so common and some are so well known for it that they openly admit it. I went up against one once.....it was as if the defendant had a 2nd attorney in the courtroom. |

It appears as though there will never be any proof either way as to who ACTUALLY started the physical part of this confrontation. If it was provable that GZ attacked TM, then the case it a walk-off for the prosecution, and I would be glad to watch GZ rot in prison for ever. With that not being provable, now it comes down to the same issue that we have discussed all along, and one that I still have a hard time dealing with. Did TM have a right to physically assault GZ in this situation out of defense, thus voiding GZ's right to deadly force? That is extremely difficult, and I just don't know. When I was a 17 year old punk (believe it or not), if some stranger was following me for what I perceived as no reason, I may have been inclined to confront him instead of running, or at some point in my running (when I got close to home for example), decide it was time to end the shit and take it to the streets. If I did, then who "started" the fight? If I (or TM) had beaten the follower up badly, would I have been convicted of assault? These questions are a little out of the bounds of the court/law, because burden of proof heavily favors the defendant in a case where the other person is dead, but I still have a hard time answering the questions. |

To me there's clearly a "reasonable doubt" and GZ walks. I hope it doesn't lead to another Rodney King riot. |
