Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I've seen a lot of social media saying the "hood" will catch up with him sooner or later. Kinda makes me wonder which "bounty" is worth more -- Casey Anthony or George Zimmerman.

All talk. Zimmerman will lay low for a while and eventually move on with his life.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

The two cases are in no way comparable, IMO.

Apparently they are. Bith were not found guilty of anything.

And one is a man and one is a woman, etc... And I used to live at a condo complex where the president had a dictator complex, so maybe you could compare him to Hitler.

I wasn't comparing the cases at all. Just their lives after post trial, of which I believe will be quite similar.

Any of you guys follow the Jodi Arias trial? That was probably the most interesting trial I've watched (including the O.J. trial). That is one sick bitch.

For those that haven't followed it, she was convicted of first degree murder for stabbing her boyfriend 27 times and putting a bullet through his skull for good measure. The jury hung on the sentence (life or death) and they have been in the process of impaneling a new jury.

Not quite sure, but I think they're supposed to come back on July 22 if things go right.

I will say this: the concept of the federal DOJ doing a full investigation on Martin's death as well as the thought that federal charges could be filed are both BS, IMO. The trial is done and there wasn't anything nefarious about how the trial went.

Although I'll never agree with the verdict, I do agree with Brum. A civil trial for Martin's wrongful death is inevitable and just under the law.

Don't believe I've seen federal charges ever being pursued after a legit murder trial. Not saying it hasn't happened, but I certainly have never heard of it.

I've never paid much attention to the DOJ in the past, so I have no frame of reference, but this one under Holder is horrendous.

I didn't even know that was possible.

So although he's already been to trial once and found not guilty, the feds can step in and send him to trial for the exact same thing again?

I have no idea. I didn't think it was possible either. How in the Hell do you bypass or avoid double jeopardy in this situation? I mean, from my understanding, you can't be charged with murder (at any degree) twice in this country.

Are they looking to find something else to charge him with? I'm not sure what they're thinking.

Hopefully one of our resident legal aficionados will clear this up.

You are correct in that he couldn't be charged with the same crime twice. It would have to be of another charge....something like a hate crime.

In the end, I do not think it will ever happen....if it did, that's political suicide. Much, much more to be lost than gained. You can say what you want to about Obama, but he's nothing if not understanding of what it takes to spin politics into electability points. He didn't kill Romney based on his four years of work.
