Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

How much trouble do you need to get in before you learn your lesson? I personally would have a hard time sleeping at night knowing I took a life, even if it was REALLY self defense.

But get in trouble with a gun AGAIN? This fucking moron is dumber than he looks.
Learn what lesson? In my opinion he killed someone and got away with it...pretty easily I might add. The only lesson learned is that he can beat the system.

Good point. While we're at it, maybe Casey Anthony will get pregnant again.

Here's a few people who I bet are glad GZ was found not guilty.

Good for him. I still think he should be in jail, but at least he did something good with his time out of jail. Hopefully that will continue.
Well, that was a fail.
I didn't want to be the one pointing that out. ;)

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

You still don't think it was self defense?

Legally or ethically? I said legally that he would get off.

However, I think we have to trust that Zimmerman felt that his life was in danger when we find him not guilty. Any proof that might possibly exist to show otherwise (not saying that it did exist, but two men knew exactly what happened and one is dead) was shot that night, which is why Zimmerman was found not guilty.

My problem from the beginning was that I didn't trust Zimmerman's ability to discern whether he was 'reasonably' in danger for his life based on his actions as well as his actions in previous situations where he called 9-1-1. I think the current case reinforces that he might not be the best judge of actions. Doesn't mean that he should have been convicted based on the evidence because he is innocent until proven guilty.....but it also doesn't mean that he wasn't truly guilty.

Why would the court outcome have changed my mind. I think we all pretty much said from the beginning that it was unlikely he'd be convicted, especially of murder. I thought maybe manslaughter. Either way, not sure why you would think I've altered my stance.

The media jumping the gun and reporting false information. Never saw that coming... :sarcasm:

"We didn't find a gun," Lake Mary police spokesman Zach Hudson said late Monday night. "We didn't find anything that indicated he had a gun on his person."

Heard Shep Smith say 'he keeps fonding himself in the news' (referring to being pulled over twice since his acquittal)

NO Shep, you keep putting him in the news! I didn't need to know when he got a warning for speeding, you chose to make it "news". The media just sucks!

Imagine that - another 911 call:

http://www.hlntv.com/video/2013/09/09/george-zimmerman-arrested-domestic-altercation-911-call?hpt=hln10_2

Quote:

Police say Shellie Zimmerman called 911, saying her husband was holed up in his vehicle with a gun.

"He's in his car and he continually has his hand on his gun saying, 'Step closer and he's going to shoot us,'" she told the dispatcher.

Her father's face afterwards:

GZ is lucky his x-father-in-law did NOT have a gun (his face looks as if he has been beaten to the point where he would be in fear of his life - he might have decided to defend himself). :sarcasm:

I don't understand why anyone keeps defending this idiot. Good grief!

There's a big difference between "defending" and wanting factual reporting. Divorces are often messy things, and I think it's wrong for the world to morbidly watch through a dysfunctional media.

Since you were one that said a punch could be deadly. If George did indeed punch the father in the face would the father have had the right to shoot him?

yes, assuming the father didn't instigate the fight.
