Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

I'll get it started with this pretty funny interview Sonnen gave to Dan Le Betard. I hope Silva tears Sonnen a new one.

Should be a fun fight regardless who wins. If Silva legitimately had a rib injury last time it could look very different this time around. Sonnen is very good at impressing his style on a fight.
The Cung Le - Patrick Cote fight should be really interesting too.

Don't know if anyone saw the highlights from the weigh-ins, but Silva basically slapped Sonnen with his shoulder during the staredown. A part of me was just wondering if Silva's smack talk (which he doesn't usually do) has been to seel the PPV, but now I am starting to think he is genuinely really pissed with Sonnen.
This could be a barn-burner.

I'm excited for it. Not sure what Silva was doing. They have done a great job promoting this fight already so I don't think the antics really add anything. I think maybe it was for the "slapping his wife on the ass" comment.

That and the constant disrespect for Brazil. Like I said, I think he is seriously and genuinely angry.

The card itself is pretty good from top to bottom. Should be a good night of fights.

Well that was fast! Silva looked incredibly comfortable, even when he was on his back in the first round. I think he must have had a legitimate injury the first time they fought.

I agree. I also think there was a bit of a change in strategy. In the last fight when he was teaken down he was constantly looking for sweeps and subs. This time he just held chael in place looking to minimize damage and hopefully get the standup.

It just goes to show how dangerous he is. Anderson hit him with a couple good right hands and then stuffed that takedown and I think Chael got desperate.

The best part of the fight was when Chael fell against the cage and Anderson started walking up to him, he had this look on his face like "oh shit I fucked up."

I'm not sure I've ever seen a guy go from full guard, to half guard, to no guard and not appear threatened at all. Chael had him in a place where every fighter wants to be and he couldn't do anything with it.

Any reason Sonnen tried a spinning backfist? At the minimum, he had won the first round and even if he wasn't the better fighter he would just need to try to eek one of the last two rounds on two judges' cards. Seems like a hell of a risky move at that point.

It is a championship - 5 rounds.

In hindsight, the spinning back fist wasn't a good move, but that is his style, putting constant pressure on guys.

BTW Rashad Evans is tweeting that he wants a shot at Silva. Might be the best fight out there for Anderson. I don't think there is anyone currently anyone at 185 that really gives him a good fight.
Rashad (when he doesn't forget he is a wrestler) can fight a similar style as Chael, but has faster hands and more power. He also I believe should have been fighting at 185 for awhile now. He is 5'10" or 5'11" and doesn't really cut weight to fight at 205

The spinning backfist may have been a mistake but the bigger mistake was just sitting on the canvas afterwards and waiting for Silva to pounce on him. I think he definitely had enough time to get to his feet. Not sure what he was thinking.

Thanks, didn't know that.

Not sure. I would have tried to get up too. But at the same time, trying to get up from that position, you are basically defenseless while getting up against the most accurate striker in the UFC. I am guess he was thinking Anderson would pounce on him and try to finish and he would be able to use his wrestling to protect himself. Don't think he was counting on that huge knee to the body.
