Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

That's fine. Not sure why they'd deal for a (near) 40 year old player who is on the last leg of his career. I'm assuming he'll play RF in place of Swish?

I don't know, but I'm not seeing it.

Girardi said he's going to play left. which moves ibanez and swisher to DH platoon.

Interesting note: the last time Ichiro played left was in his first MLB playoff game...against the Gankees.

Wonder how many jacks Ichiro can put up this late in his career with that short RF porch? I'm seeing line drive HR's in his future.

Gardner didn't have the power, probably could have completed in speed at this point. The more I think about it, the Yankees will probably come out on top with this one.

It's a win/win for both. Ichiro has been the talk of the town up here in terms of what we need to do with him. Just an hour before the announcement, I was having a conversation about if the mariners were going to re-sign him in the offseason. This is good for us, as the Mariners have a tendency to hang onto players when they need to move on.

I'll tell you one thing...Seattle LOVES Ichiro (even in his decline)...but Seattle will always love Edgar more.

Yankees announced last week that Garnder was having surgery and done for the year. Ichiro fills that spot I guess.

+1

Didn't the Mariners have to pick up part of his remaining salary?

The Yankees only have to pay Ichiro 2.5 million for the rest of the year. They got a GREAT deal.

His defense is still superb. He's a rolling a 1.9 WAR which indicates he is still a + player.
