Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

You guys read about what Lochte's mom said? Kinda funny...

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/olympics/london/swimming/story/2012-08-03/ryan-lochte-mom-clears-up-talk-of-one-night-stands/56737510/1

Apparently he's said he's never had a one-night stand. I find that almost impossible to believe.

Thats because he kicks em out when he is done, rather than let them stay the night. Makes for a cleaner break.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

Haha, maybe you're right.

I guess it's not impossible. Lolo Jones is a self-proclaimed virgin still and she's sexy as hell.

Didn't realize how young Katie Ledecky, winner of the 800M Free is...
The U.S. found its latest distance star Friday night when 15-year-old Katie Ledecky won the 800 freestyle in a near world-record time of 8:14.63. Ledecky, the youngest member of the U.S. Olympic team, managed to shave more than five seconds off her U.S. Olympic trials-winning time (8:19.78) and broke Janet Evans' 22-year-old American record (8:16.22).

LeShawn Merritt was injured and is out of the rest of the Olympics. I wonder who will take his place in the 4x400?

All 3 Jamaicans and both Americans win their 100m heats. The final for the 100 will be supremely interesting.

I'd be happy winning any medal in that event, but you're right, that will be pretty damn intense.

Will be interesting to see what sort of shape Bolt is in and how Blake handles the biggest moment of his life.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Phelps says he's retired. I'm not so sure. Lezak helped the US win gold in relay events last Olympics when he was 32 years old. Phelps will be 31 at the next Olympics. I think there's a possibility he comes back in a specialty role.

He's got to go for 20 golds. That'd be amazing.

Lezak didn't come back as the greatest Olympian of all time. I think Phelps swimming in Rio as just a relay member would lessen his greatness.

Yeah, the medal haul is staggering, but when you look at the 3 Olympic programs he swam, that was the most impressive part. Nobody has ever tried such a daunting task over 12 years. Coming back to just add to his medal count would suck.

I don't think he come back just to add to his medal count. He comes back because he'll still be one of the 4 fastest swimmers we can send over there. He can do the relay events and probably the 100 and 200 fly. That's 4 or 5 events he'd be competing in.

Phelps hates swimming...he's looking forward to retiring, and I don't have a problem with that.
