Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Phelps vs. Lochte in the 200 IM today.

Also, Women's All-Around competition is today. Aly and Gaby; let's do this!

BTW, tomorrow is Day 7, aka, the end of the first week. I think we should all list our 3 (or 5 or however many) most memorable moments of each week, and then at the end of the Olympics, do an overall listing. It would be interesting to me to see what resonates with you fellas.
Good idea, Bat!!!

Week 1 down...these are my top 3 memories from the Olympics so far.

3. Michael Phelps dominance; Probably should be number 1. What a career he's had and I'm thankful I was able to watch it.

2. Swimming dominance; Absolutely incredible what we've done in the pool this year; Phelps to Lochte to Missy Franklin to Ledecky (watching her medal ceremony was beyond awesome). Only knock that I have about the swimming team is now it's over and I won't get to see any more.

1. Gymnastics has a soft spot in my heart, but the woman's team was absolutely exquisite this year. From Maroney's insanely good vault to the all-around performances, quite possibly the greatest gymnastics team ever. Glad I was able to watch them as well.

I think the #1 thing that will stick with me so far is Maroney's vault. That had serious WOW factor.

Nathan Adrien's .01 sec gold medal swim in the 100 free is probably second. Even watching the replay I couldn't tell if he won. That was exciting.

Then I guess it's between Phelps and the women's soccer team. Wambach's continued dominance and Morgan's continued emergence as one of the best players in the world.

Now looking forward to: Some of the volleyball results. Every match I've seen the US teams have dropped the first set only to come back and win.

The 100m mens race, obviously

Seeing if the US women soccer team can sew up the gold

How about Nathan Adrian winning gold in the 100M Free over 'The Missile' Magnussen?! Didn't see that one coming.

BTW, anyone see the McKayla Maroney's vault in the team finals? Sweet baby Jesus that was a sweet vault.

Bump for Dreach! :P

In all honesty though, these announces have seen tens of thousands of vaults before. Their reaction alone is priceless.

Video still gives me chills.

Looks like Mr. Bolt is in shape. The 200 should be a battle.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Bad starts have been hurting him, but not this time around. He came off pretty much in line with others and cruised to the finish. Fantastic performance.

Looked like he was still at top end speed through the line.

His ability at 6'5 to uncoil and get out of the blocks is absolutely amazing.

Can't believe McKayla Maroney fell down on her 2nd vault last night, costing her the gold.

Nobody will remember that in a year from now, focusing on her vault in the team competition instead, but it still sucks.

What sucks is that it was a tactical error. I blame the coaches. She landed her first vault at 15.8. She should have just done a super easy vault, nailed it, and she would have won the competition easily. Instead she went for the same, difficult vault. Unnecessary.

I thought they said the 2nd vault was actually a little bit easier than the first, but your point remains the same, and it's a good one.

BTW, did you see when they showed her and men's all-around champion doing the same vault at the same time. Amazing how much more air she gets than her male counterpart. That still amazes me.

Women's soccer followed by Men's basketball...should make for an exciting afternoon of Olympic action.

One step at a time, grasshopper.

That would be sweet though. To abuse Japan as badly as we did and not win gold was absolutely depressing. I was legitimately pissed off when that game was over.

Not a soccer fan by any means, but I do enjoy watching our ladies play.
