Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Not a soccer fan by any means, but I do enjoy watching our ladies play.
Partly due to the fact they're so much better, but I'd rather watch the ladies play as opposed to the men.

Wambach ties it again with a penalty kick. This 2nd half has been ridonkulous.

No sound so not sure what the announcers said, but that penalty call looked like it good have been a bad call in the US's favor.

BTW, Rapinoe is fearless out there and does some jaw-dropping things, but she'll make you shake your head two or three times a game as well.

Will do my best for the next half hour.

I didn't watch the entire 2nd half, but from what I saw, that was as an entertaining of a half as you'll see. Crazy, crazy, crazy.

Overtime rules:

Other rules

There is no Golden Goal rule, soccer's equivalent of sudden-death overtime.
If the score is tied in a preliminary round match, the game remains a draw.
From the quarter-finals onward, if one team scores in the first 15-minute extra period, the opposing team has until the end of that period to tie the score in order to force a second 15-minute period. If it doesn't, the game is over. In the event a second 15-minute period is needed, the same rule applies.
If the score is still tied after the two 15-minute extra periods, a penalty shoot-out follows. Each team gets five penalty kicks to decide the winner.
If the teams are still tied, a sudden-death shoot-out decides it. The first team to score a goal, when its opponent fails to score, wins the game.

Scoreless after the first overtime session. Expecting few scoring chances in this one as well.
