Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Phelps vs. Lochte in the 200 IM today.

Also, Women's All-Around competition is today. Aly and Gaby; let's do this!

BTW, tomorrow is Day 7, aka, the end of the first week. I think we should all list our 3 (or 5 or however many) most memorable moments of each week, and then at the end of the Olympics, do an overall listing. It would be interesting to me to see what resonates with you fellas.

I guess it's the tape delay aspect and already knowing what's going to happen, but the Olympics just aren't doing it for me this year.

Damn internet.
BTW, I can't believe I said that few days ago. It must have taken me a while to get warmed up, because I'm locked and loaded now.

First women's judo gold in American history!
I read earlier she had a chance to accomplish that feat. Impressive!

Gabby Douglas wins gold! YES!!! Another one of those young kids with an absolutely infectious personality.

Raisman gets 4th on some lame tiebreak despite tying for 3rd with another girl. I wonder what the tiebreak they used is? Not sure they couldn't give out 2 bronzes....

Top three scores of the 4 stations is used.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

Yeah, I read that too.

Seems pretty cheap when they already score the apparatuses to the 1000th decimal place.

Nobody will remember who was 3rd or 4th in 10 years, and winning the team competition is much more important, but still wish she could have been on that podium.

In an all around competition, dropping the lowest score would see to benefit the person who did worse. Why note drop the lowest AND the highest?

I could see it either way. Raisman's performance was more steady, while the Russian's was a bit more electric without the consistency.

I guess they're aware of the rules going in, but it would seem more fair to have a pre-designated event where they each participate in a playoff (or just give them each bronze).

BTW, some of you might find this interesting...

On ESPN radio at lunch on the Hill & Schlereth show, they were saying that each American gets $25k for a gold medal, 15k for silver, and 10k for bronze.
