Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

The Reds, winners of 10 straight and 17 of their last 19 games, are tied with the Nationals and Yankees (assuming they win tonight) for best record in the league. Not to mention they've gone on this 10 game win streak without the help of one of the best hitters in the game, Joey Votto! Ryan Ludwick, Drew Stubbs and Brandon Phillips are all seeing the ball tremendously well. Cincinnati leads the league in most defensive catagories and the starters and bullpen have been rock solid. It seems like everyone Dusty Baker puts in the lineup is contributing. Go reds!

Congrats to the Reds but I'm not seeing that Dusty has all that much to do with it.

I dont think so either. But he does deserve some credit for getting the most out of his lineup while Votto is recovering from knee surgery. The starting pitching probably deserves the most credit over the last 19 games.

Agreed. The best thing about Dusty is the toothpick, it keeps his mouth occupied 95% of the time. No offense to you as a Red's fan but Dusty is probably the most over-rated manager of my lifetime.....right next to Ozzie Guillen.

Hahaha I hate Ozzie the most! Especially after what he said about Fidel Castro earlier this year. That guy is the definition of a dumbass. Dusty Baker might be a bad manager at times but ever since he's been in Cincinnati we've improved. Last year not so much, but he and Walt Joketty have built up a good core of young players.

Through five innings tonight, the Reds have walked nine batters.

Walt is a good baseball man but the Votto deal is just not the norm with him. They are very small market, I've gotta believe he was given no choice on that one. Someone above his pay grade made that call. Win it now because, imo, that deal will set you back in a couple of years.

Going into today's play, the Reds did have the best record in baseball.

Huge three game series coming up with the Pirates coming to the Great American Ball Park. The Reds are up 3.5 games on the Pirates. This should be a really competitive series with the way both of these clubs have been playing since the all-star break. I'm thinking the Reds take at least 2 of 3. I can't wait to see how this team plays when Votto and Phillips return to the lineup. Votto just started fielding ground balls at 1st base and taking BP yesterday. I'm thinking he will be back in a week or so.

The Reds are also 1.5 games up on the Nationals for best record in baseball. It's definitely going to hurt the Nats that Strasburg is going to be put on the shelf at some point for a while, maybe for the season. If the Reds can take care of the Bucs this weekend, I see them putting some space in between 1st and 2nd in the NL.

Well they took the first game. Looking forward to tonights game. I think we at least take 2 of 3 from them. I would be sweet if we sweep them.

What a game last night! That was probably the biggest win of the season! It's truly amazing what these guys have done without Votto and Phillips (for the last couple of games), especially against good competition like the Pirates. Scott Rolen and Miguel Cairo had fantastic games last night! Hopefully we can get the sweep tonight and go up 6.5 games on the Bucs.

Well that didn't happen, but I am OK with 2 out of 3 against the Pirates without Phillips and Votto.
