Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Tried watching Wisky/PSU. Decided to clean the shower off and on during commercials. Not surprisingly, found it more exciting than the game and decided to stick it out.

Illinois up 42-25 on Ohio State with 18 minutes left in the game. Could help out Purdue's RPI.

Man Ohio State is getting clownstomped and the Illini aren't even shooting it well from three. And they've taken 23 shots from 3.

With Illinos losing to Purdue on the road and then OSU losing on the road to Illinois, I become more and more satisfied with our win on the road at Iowa.

So far in Big Ten play:

Home teams are 6-2 and are outscoring opponents by about 8 points/game.

Fouls:
HOME/ROAD
Wisconsin 7, Penn State 23
Northwestern 12, Michigan 14
Iowa 15, Indiana 18
Minnesota 12, Michigan State 21
Purdue 14, Illinois 20
Illinois 15, Ohio State 15
Michigan State 20, Purdue 21
Ohio State 8, Nebraska 10
TOTAL: Home fouls 103 (12.9 per game), 152 (19 per game). We have almost 50% more fouls on road teams.

Our officiating in the Big Ten simply does not get our teams ready for the tournament because what is a foul is so different depending on home and away.

Are those really the fouls from the penn st/wisky game? That's silly.

I second this.

Of course I picked Iowa, and I'm sure the majority of you would have done the same if you knew Jordy was going to be 0-10 or whatever it ended up being. Nothing spectacular, but that was a very solid win.

Ohio State just isn't very good, either is Illinois (Illinois is kempom #48!!!!). Things are going to look ugly for the B1G as the season goes on.

We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I think O$U is a bit overrated at well, but every road game will be a meat grinder, outside of maybe NW and Penn State.

Currently, I think IU and Purdue are in similar positions in a way. IU will need to win a few road games to have a shot at the title and PU will need to win a couple in order to dance (no shame in a rebuilding year, as IU fans know).

I just wish they'd stop playing the Saturday day games. I don't miss an IU or PU game unless they're at that time, and I enjoy watching both play.

Yep. Free throws were 26-1 Wisconsin in their 9 point home win over Penn State. And it wasn't like Penn State was jacking up threes....they only took 8 threes all game.

Indiana needs no specific wins or losses to win a title, they are just good as they are. They just need to keep sharp.

Purdue isn't going to make the tournament, they ruined that with their pre-con schedule.

I don't think IU loses at home. I also think 14-4 wins a share of the B1G, so they need to secure at least 4 road wins for that to happen. Just my opinion of course. UM has looked damn good, so those numbers could easily change.

Purdue didn't help themselves with the OOC schedule, that's for sure.

Although, Purdue plays great defense, and if there's anything we've learned about a CMP team, it's that they improve as the year goes on. I don't think any team strolls into Mackey and has an easy victory, IU included. Personally, that game scares me a great deal, although I may be in the minority.

If Purdue can win most of their games at home and steal a few road games, I don't think they'll be out of the conversation. It's not likely, but far from unreasonable. Defense always travel.
