Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

will be interested to see how far past remy crean goes to the bench on saturday. i know there's talk of working in more minutes for jeremy, hanner, derek and even mo...but can't see how we can afford such a drop-off this game. also, minny will only be going 6 deep...with no incentive to try and work in underclassmen, etc.

huge game (and UM only plays minny once...making it even bigger)
I don't have a problem with playing Jeremy and Hanner a bit, because I think they can do good things on the court if they're not overly relied on, which they won't be.

Elston has showed me nothing this year (and I love the kid) and Mo is virtually in the same category (plus he's been hurt) so I don't see why they'd play meaningful minutes unless they're just killing it in practice, which I doubt.

Crean is a better coach any of us, but to me, there's a time to gain experience and there's a time to win a damn game. This isn't the former.
Yeah, I think it's going to hurt us by losing Hanner and Jurkin the first 9 games. That was valuable experience they missed out on when we were playing teams that we could afford to play them.

It's always good to play against opponents you're not familiar with.

When you look at the team though (Yogi, Jordy, Vic, Watford, Cody, Remy, Mo, Jeremy, Hanner, Elston, Will, and Jurkin), it's not like they're practicing against slouches either. If they bring it in practice and produce, they should be able to do the same during B1G games. It's just a matter of whether or not they're ready, and we have to trust the coach to make that decision.

It's definitely going to be interesting to see what strategy Crean employs for our biggest test of the year. I agree, we'll likely be a 7-deep team on saturday.

My biggest question is...when WILL we be able to get these guys some quality PT to prep for the tourney? The 9 game suspension and injuries have a profound impact on this team going forward. The NCAA fucked us.

br
They didn't do us any favors, but Saturday's game will be much like postseason...it's no time to tinker with players and lineups. You play the kids you think are most ready on that given day to help you succeed and worry about the rest later.
Totally agree. You have to play to win.

What I was getting at is that there are no games the rest of the way out that aren't "playoff" games. We're going for a high seed in the tourney and all of these games will be tough (as seen today in Michigan).

I wonder when, if ever, these guys will get the "experience building" PT.

agree with everything...yet, at the same time, these guys need that experience...and not just for next year...

such is the dilemma... :chug: :chug: :chug:

I think we go 8 deep. Hollowell should see some PT. I'm guessing 10-15 minutes. We also may see Perea for a short time in situational plays. Possibly giving cody a rest/keep his fouls down if need be.

I have a feeling that Minny's going to go right at Cody to try and get him in foul trouble early on...

Well, if we beat Minni, we'll be moving up the rankings... Arizona handed their first loss today by unranked Oregon

Yeah I was watching the game... Vandy's coach took a timeout right after it happened and yelled at the officials the whole timeout. Vandy went back out there made a three then Kentucky called a timeout and vandy's coach was still fuming over the call. Talk about a missed call. The refs responsible should be held accountable. This should never happen. I don't understand how that isn't reviewable. It's not like a play happened after the fact. A timeout was taken. They could have just reviewed it and set the clock back to when the shot clock went off. What's going on with the officials this season. It's just unacceptable to blow calls at the end of games. Colorado should have beat Arizona and Vandy should have beat Kentucky.

They look good, but Zona had really been struggling lately and the game was @Oregon.

Good fucking god. Wow...makes me really understand why this board exists. Had this same situation happened with IU and that thread started here, I would have hit the red button and nuked every fucker spouting that dumb shit.
