Michigan and Florida are looking like two of the best teams in the nation at this point |

Hoosier Daddy?!

Teams that impressed me this week: Miami (FL) - They beat the holy hell out of #1 ranked Duke and took care of Florida State today. The Canes are undefeated now in the ACC and have been playing very well. Villanova - No team has had a bigger week this season than Nova with wins over top 5 ranked teams Louisville and Syracuse. I thought this team sucked at the beginning of the year, but Jay Wright has this team stepping up now. La Salle - When was the last time La Salle was relevant in basketball? A home win over Top 10 ranked Butler and an impressive win at VCU. Arizona State - I have been keeping an eye on this team for a few weeks now. The talent is there, but they didn't have any quality wins to show for it. They manhandle a surging UCLA team at home after the Bruins snagged an impressive win at Arizona. Teams that disappointed me this week: Louisville - The Cards were ranked first in the country just one week ago, and they are now on a three-game losing streak. They blew the Syracuse game at home, played like garbage in a loss at Villanova, and then fell at Georgetown. I think they will turn things around, but this an eight-day stretch the Cards would like to forget. Minnesota - I was so high on this team after the IU game. Now, they're on a four-game losing streak. Losing at IU, to Michigan, and at Wisconsin aren't bad. But you can't lose at Northwestern. This just proves how tough the Big Ten is this year. VCU - Another team I have been high on, but they dropped two games this week. First, they blow a game at Richmond in overtime. Then they lose at home to La Salle, a team they shouldn't lose to at home. Edited by crveech, Jan 28 2013, 12:16 AM.

Wisconsin just went an entire game without shooting a FT. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

I think Purdue goes most games without hitting one. At least it seems that way to me. |

If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed Meat is Murder. Sweet, delicious murder. | |

The guy picked last in gym class

That is amazing -- Ohio State did have 12 fouls, you think at least one of them would have been a shooting foul. What is really strange is that Wisky took 52 shots, 28 of which were threes. I know they take a lot of threes, but having 54% of shots being behind the arc is way out of control. |

They actually did hit 11 threes against Ohio State....but they had 16 combined points inside the arc and off of free throws. Not going to win many games like that. |

Talk about some defense... Florida over South Carolina, 75-36. I know SC isn't a power house but Florida has been on a tear lately. Looks like uk has lost their top spot in the SEC, as if there was any question |

What do you think the top 5 spots will be in the rankings come Monday? Mine are as follows: 1) Indiana 2) Florida 3) Michigan 4) Duke 5) Kansas Michigan and Duke may trade the 3/4 spot but losing to the number 3 on their floor shouldn't drop you far... When duke got blown out by number 24, they only dropped 5 or 6 spots... so... what say you Hoosier Board? |

Same top 5 as well. Michigan can get punished too much for that game. |

We'll be playing OSU next week as well and they will most certainly move into the top 10. I continue to see our SOS get stronger. That will make 3 top 10 teams we've played. Not too shabby. I hope we dont have a let down against Illi... would like to go in there and beat them up before heading to OSU to play a strong game, keeping us undefeated on the road in conference play! GO HOOSIERS! |

With Vic guarding Paul, that's a game I expect to handle. Jordy might have issues with Abram, but we should find a way to compensate...he's not a great 3-point shooter. Sunday will be the big test, although I'm not that high on OSU this year. I honestly expect to go 2-0 this week, but going 0-2 wouldn't be the most shocking moment of my life either. It's hard to win on the road. |
