Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

yeah, I hear ya... the ONLY reason I like having the number one through the regular season is all the <usually> positive exposure we get while number 1

Would you rather have a number 1 seed in a western bracket or a lower seed in the midwest bracket?

Teams that impressed me this week:

Illinois - Yes, we had them beat and coughed it up, but they still got the win. And they just followed that up with a huge road win at Minnesota tonight. Just when I thought this team was rolling over and dying, they pull out two mega wins.

Wisconsin - Only team in the country with wins over IU and Michigan after a crazy win on Saturday.

Pittsburgh - This team is playing well at the right time. They took care of Seton Hall at home as expected, but then they avenged a home loss from earlier in the season with an impressive road win at Cincinnati.

Teams that disappointed me this week:

Kansas - Man, when was the last time you've seen KU struggle this much? An embarrassing loss at TCU followed by a third-straight loss at Oklahoma. The Jayhawks have a lot of problems right now.

Cincinnati - The Bearcats started with a bad road loss at Providence and followed that with a home loss against Pitt. This is such an up-and-down team.

Creighton - The Valley has been crazy this year, but the Jays were suppose to be the gold standard of the conference. But they lose at Indiana State and then fall on national television at home to Illinois State, who lost their first six games in the conference.

BYU - I think the Cougars' bubble just popped this week. This is too talented of a team to lose at Santa Clara and at home to San Francisco in the same week.

Looks like Illinois about to win at Minnesota.

Looks like prediction of Minnesota being a solid tourney team this might have been premature.
And their next 4 aren't very easy. I think their next two are huge games for them.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

The Illinois game was huge for them. It will be interesting to see how many wins they will need to get into the tourney....they could lose their next four and still have three winnable games left (Penn State, at Nebraska, at Purdue) that would put them at 8-10. At that point it becomes a tough decision for the NCAA....Minnesota does have two quality wins (Memphis and Michigan State). Don't know how much credence the NCAA still puts into RPI, but RPI still loves Minnesota -- they were 10th coming into today.

I still think we'll be number 1, with Duke getting the 2 spot.

After their big games today, Victor Oladipo reached a career total of 970 points and Cody Zeller has 959. Likely either against Purdue or against Michigan State both will have eclipsed 1,000 points, becoming the 45th and 46th Hoosiers to do so. That means we have will have four 1,000 point scorers on the court in Watford, Hulls, Oladipo, and Zeller. Will Sheehey is likely to eclipse the mark next year.

Only one other time in Indiana history have four players who had already scored 1,000 points been on the court at the same time: the 1975-6 team (Benson, May, Steve Green, and Buckner....interesting to note that all 4 scored their 1,000 points during that season).

At their current scoring rates, if IU were to play five postseason games (any combination of Big Ten/NCAA games....just throwing that out as a 'what if', not any expectations), then Watford would finish his career with 1,761 points (good for 7th all-time, one spot ahead of Damon Bailey); Hulls would finish with 1,360 points (good for 23rd, right between Andrae Patterson and Uwe Blab). If Cody and VO were to leave for the NBA after the season, they'd be at 1,161 and 1,142 respectively, good for 36th and 37th all-time.

Duke player undercuts a BC player who got the offensive rebound and a chance to win. No call.
complete undercut...cook didn't even go for the ball, just moved under the rebounder and sent him on his back...and it was on the road. just goes to show, you better make a play at the end of a game. The shot from 8 feet to tie that may or may not have hit the rim didn't help much.

BC's final 2 possessions were laughable considering how they fought for 38 minutes
