Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Ben McClemore and Marcus Smart go a combined 5-26 from the field on national TV one day after Oladipo blows up again against MSU. Barring some sort of collapse, I think this may have sealed POY for Oladipo.
Unless Trey Burke and Michigan are able to steal the Big Ten title from IU on the last game of the season. That would be awfully convincing.

The Indiana/Michigan State game was a hell of game between two top teams.

The Kansas/Oklahoma State game is in double OT, but....these teams aren't on Indiana or Michigan State's level of play.

I agree about OSU, but I think Kansas is one of the best teams in the country. Their offense struggles at times, but as games typically slow down in the later rounds of the NCAA tournament, I think their defense will be big time for them.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

The way the 4 teams mentioned are playing right now... kansas isn't close. they'd be MID B1G if they were in this conference

Mid B1G? As in like 6th? If you think that, you're crazy. They lost a really close game on a neutral court to MSU earlier in the year, and beat OSU at OSU pretty handily earlier in the year. I'd say they are definitely better than UW and Minnesota. I'd put them on the same plane as MSU and Michigan, and probably a touch worse than Indiana if both are playing well.

Operative words are 'earlier in the year'. A week and a half ago they lost three straight games to unranked teams including a TCU team that is on the level.

I think you are being way too generous toward them. I would say they are a touch worse than Michigan and Michigan State.....so not mid Big Ten, but there are three teams in the Big better than them.

That's what I was thinking before reading your 2nd post.

The thing that scares me about Oladipo's meteoric rise is that it's been so sudden. I wonder if some voters have a predisposed notion from earlier in the year that Burke is the best.

There's still lots of time left. Plenty of time for Oladipo to steal it or for someone else to take it away. Although, I'd say it's Oladipo's to lose at this point. I haven't heard a single person from ESPN or the B1G say anyone other than Oladipo in the last week.

Maybe I'm biased, but my God that Oklahoma State Kansas game was the most boring 2 OT game I've ever seen. Both teams were gassed yet continued to jack up horrible jump shots. Glad to see others mention that at this point in the season, they aren't in MSU or IU's league.

Well, maybe we were wrong. ESPN straw poll has Burke still in the lead. Oladipo didn't even garner a vote in 19 of the ballots. One thing we may have forgotten about is Cody Zeller. He still got 9 votes. It's possible Oladipo and Zeler split some votes that would otherwise just go to one of them, thereby bringing down both their numbers.

I mentioned that scenario to a friend of mine. I have no idea how much credence goes to that thought-process, but I think it's quite possible.

Wisconsin up 28 to 12 at Northwestern. At half.

I am so glad I have a remote control.
Wisky with 2 fouls at the half with 1 being called in the last 3 minutes of the half.....on the road.

Is it even possible, in this day and age, for a D1 school to only commit 2 fouls in a half? I have a very hard time believing that.

It is hard to believe -- especially as physical as Wisconsin is....but I actually watched most of the first half and didn't think there were that many missed calls. Northwestern is just that passive and don't put themselves into any kind of position to receive a foul.

I would tend to agree and tried to use that in my thinking....but 2??? It just seems almost impossible that there weren't 2-3 other play that we're suspect in 20 minutes of CBB....it really doesn't matter who is playing. Hell, if we go by Lars numbers there were at least .6 unintentional/intentional nut shots in that half....it happens all the time ;)

SLU/Butler right now. Should be a great game. SLU has been absolutely on fire and they beat Butler in St. Louis.

I'd say St.Louis just punched their ticket. Season sweep of Butler and most likely will win A10 regular season crown. Even an early A10 tourney exit won't keep them from an at large bid.
