oh well... gonzaga gets the number 1 ranking, assuming they beat MIGHTY Portland on Saturday. At least they are out west and are no threat of taking the midwests top seed |

Rewound it again.....the inbounder took at least three steps running toward the player he passed to on the in bounds. Shitty ESPN can't even bother to spot it. I don't care about the #1 ranking....but to have such a huge officiating meltdown go completely unseen is beyond words, IMO. |

i might be wrong...but can't a player move on the baseline after any made attempt, irregardless of whether there was a TO called? |

I'm trying to locate the exact rule. I know that there was a rule about not being granted that privilidge if you take a time out....it's possible that it has changed since then. But I do know for a fact that at the minimum that was the NCAA rule at one point in time. |

Here is one site that is saying what I say -- that you can only run the in bounds after a made basket if the timeout is taken immediately (i.e., before a player grabs the ball and the five count begins). http://www.coachesclipboard.net/PressBreak.html But I'm finding other sites saying the opposite. I'm probably wrong. |

So, if Duke beats Miami this weekend... that means #1, 3, 4 and 5 will have lost this week... again, assuming Gonzaga wins Saturday... I think IU would move down one spot to number 2... what say you Hoosier Nation? |

A timeout before the ball is inbounded after a made basket or free throw has no bearing on whether or not the inbounder can move on the baseline on the subsequent inbounds play. Legal play |

I've seen Plumlee play twice this year and wasn't impressed in either game. He does have good numbers so maybe that was just bad luck, but I dunno. When I watched him he wasn't able to get close to the basket, having to either dribble drive in or work his way in from way far out. And he was getting beat on D repeatedly. I have a hard time believing he's a legit NPOY candidate. |

Really? I haven't heard that at all. Zeller has to dribble drive into the basket to get his shot? He does that maybe once or twice each game. He works his way close into the basket from far out? I'd say his positioning is pretty average. Plumlee was catching the ball just inside the 3 line and trying to back his man all the way in. Zeller's issues are not demanding the ball enough, not being a dominant rebounder, and sometimes not being aggressive enough when he gets it. Not sure what games you are watching. Really? They both need to be stronger around the basket and they both struggle with D at times. Obviously we aren't watching the sames games. |
