Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

The media is hyping the B1G Tourney. Four teams in the top ten and CBS has the Saturday games. IU/Mich and Purdue/Iowa is what they want to see. That is a great double header and both games would be toss-ups
Corrected that for you.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

Dana O'Neill pretty on point with her article.

http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/78957/it-happens-but-crean-has-to-know-better
Bullshit

It's a non-story if it weren't for the media. Give Indiana their due, quit hyping the bullshit.
God that's funny.
Why is it funny? She mention nothing of what could have/did cause it. Maybe Crean should have known the cameras would catch him, big deal. Her article looks at it from one angle. Crean did nothing to take away from that win. She is over blowing the situation. Where am I wrong? Without knowing what lead up to it, who is to say what they would/should have done?

I think her article is bullshit, I stand by that.
I think the article is bullshit....

You could tell Crean was really pissed though... He did the travis carroll pants adjustment "YOU WRECKED OUR PROGRAM"!!!

There may have been more that wasn't on camera but that was pretty classless IMO. Enjoy the win and be a grown up... Pretty sad

When you've been to the depths we've been to as a program and fan base, there's absolutely nothing wrong with what CTC did. As a Hoosier die-hard, I'd have personally been more upset if CTC had said nothing at all (given the circumstances surrounding what led to the "incident".).

Completely blown out of proportion by other fan bases and the media. Preach on CTC!

So has it been confirmed Meyer told Crean to go fuck himself? I haven't heard much of what lead up to the altercation

I get Purdue fans will latch on to these types of stories an add it to their of reasons to hate the guy. Conversely, IU fans by and large will not be bothered by it and love Crean's passion.

However, if you have no idea what was said to him beforehand, I think it's ridiculous to call it classless. Could he and should he have avoided the confrontation? Probably so, but that's far from being classless.

I dunno. There are more savvy ways to deal with this stuff. For instance,

Crean could have gotten to the press conference and commented on trash talk, and how people who helped ruin this program don't want to see IU succeed in their wake. He's incredibly glad to win despite their best efforts and negative comments.

That would leave everyone in the room wondering who he was talking about and what was said. Eventually it would come out that Jeff Meyer had a dust-up with Crean in the handshake line. Crean then walks away as the bigger man and Meyer looks like an asshole.

Again, Crean probably doesn't care about all that, but from a fan and media perspective there is a just one person who could be labeled a jerk in this situation. If Crean is going to confront Meyer in front of the cameras, then he should be prepared to also be labeled a jerk by some. After all, regardless of what said, he sought out Meyer after the game. that makes him the guy with a more prestigious title going out of his way to rub it in the assistant's face. IU fans may love it cuz, I mean, fuck Meyer, but no one should be surprised to hear fans or the media condemn his actions.

The conference is arguably as good as it's ever been, and we're the champs. I guess I'm not too offended about our coach pissing a few people off on the way there. #OverIt

I know 75% of you could care less about Knight when he was here but when he was here, we were hated. EVERYONE wanted a piece of us, even on our down years, just to say they beat us. I love this fire personally

James Blackmon Jr was with Zak Irvin on UM side. I wonder if that had anything to do with it?

I'm not offended by it, but the question seems to be why are people talking about this or bagging on Crean for it? I think it's pretty obvious why, and was simply explaining.

I shouldn't have quoted you. My response was just more of an "I'm over it" than it was anything to do with what you said.

Don't forget Crean never played college ball; in the coaching profession, nothing has been given to him. You don't go from nothing to coaching at a school like IU without being extremely hard-working and emotional about your job/university. Obviously, yesterday those emotions were on the forefront.
