Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

James Blackmon Jr was with Zak Irvin on UM side. I wonder if that had anything to do with it?
James Blackmon was there?
That's what Rich Bozich was saying.

Maybe this gave him another reason to stick with IU? I'd be pretty upset if he jumped ship and even more so if he did to another B1G school

When you've been to the depths we've been to as a program and fan base, there's absolutely nothing wrong with what CTC did. As a Hoosier die-hard, I'd have personally been more upset if CTC had said nothing at all (given the circumstances surrounding what led to the "incident".).

Completely blown out of proportion by other fan bases and the media. Preach on CTC!
So your program was gutted. That makes this OK? WTF does that have to do with anything here? We were wronged so it's Ok to do this? Crean always talks about the players and character and the IU way etc. What kind of example did he set yesterday?

I don't know your status, but I'm married with children and I'm not teaching my kids to use excuses for bad behavior. That's what you're doing.

BTW, Dreach is all over it. I understand why IU fans would have the immediate reaction I read.....here and elsewhere.......but if you think about it you could easily come to a different conclusion.

It's news because two coaches got heated in the middle of the court after a game.......and the winning coach was caught on film screaming at the other. Doesn't happen every day.

There are two sides to every story and CTC happened to get caught on camera. Without making excuses, I can understand why CTC did what he did. As much as you, and I, preach to kids not to do things, or how to conduct yourselves, the fact remains, there's the emotional human factor involved here. Remember that and dont forget that you, at one time in your life, screwed up, but that doesn't define who you are. What CTC did may have been unprofessional but with the emotions behind the circumstances, it's understandable and no one was hurt in this process. The media, and our opponents have to have something to talk about and this just gave them more to talk about.

Im not surprised at your reaction and I expect more of the same from others. There was a time when IU was on everyones marked list of being the team to beat and always looking for something to find that we did wrong because we were IU... We lost that status a few years ago... We're back.

Has the question been answered as to why Buckley was talking to Meyer? We just had an epic comeback in the final minute of play to win the Big Ten championship and an IU assistant is chatting it up with a Michigan assistant?

Leads me to believe there was something said in the post game handshake line and Buckley was trying to settle things down.

That's what Im saying... Apparently there's two sides to this story and IU's side got caught on tape... Michigans didn't

A lot can be revealed about a person at their highest of highs and their lowest of lows. I think Crean has handled the lows that the program went through much better than he has the highs.

If he were the coach of my team, I wouldn't have liked the way he handled it and many other situations, but I can see why Indiana fans don't care. It's not like he's out murdering people or being a horrible person.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Meyer did help wreck the program. The truth is the truth. What's embarrassing is that after all the shady shit he (along with Sampson) pulled, he's still coaching in Division I hoops.

Piss on what Crean said, why hasn't the NCAA held Meyer accountable? As far as I'm concerned, any coach that's caught cheating should be canned and never let back in.

I'm not a fan of what he did.....but really, who gives a fuck. That's the least interesting coaching 'feud' in the history of feuds. It sure as hell wasn't Knight/Henson or Chaney/Calipari.

I just read an article that suggests the beef was caused by Blackman Jr being at the game on UM's sideline

Here is another article about the situation... both of them that I read have been pro Crean, unlike ESPN

I don't think its a major deal, but its just a head scratcher. Meyer has been at U of M for Crean's entire Indiana tenure, and they've already played once this season, so why address it on the court after clinching a B1G title? And why even address it at all, seems like the program has moved on and is doing just alright.
