Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I can't imagine how anyone would know who Crean is or is not friends with.
I would think a good indicator would be the fly by handshake Crean has done to certain coaches
Really? There are hundreds of coaches out there who we never play. Everyone always comments on the fly by handshakes, I wonder what is the percentage of coaches that stop and chat it up in the handshake line? Friends or not, I feel like that's a very uncommon practice.

I'm becoming a bit of a local legend for my blow-by handshake in the Catholic youth ranks around these parts, and I'm damn proud of that. :D

In all seriousness, other fans getting pissed about that is probably one of the funniest things in sports to me. Especially after a loss, why would you want to stand there and schmuck it up to another coach that just beat you/could cost you your job/etc? Unless you have a personal connection to the coach, it makes absolutely no sense.

Im just talking about BT coaches, but you can tell a difference between a normal handshake and a fly by.

I would agree with this to an extent, and some coaches are easier to read than others.

Why are we concerned about a handshake with an opposing coach?

The same reason we are concerned with a flop, it's a message board, it's kinda what goes on around here...

I also don't think the media is against IU, but I certainly don't think their for Crean. A lot of coaches and media dislike Crean. I don't know why the media dislikes him, maybe because he frequently makes them wait for a long time after games for his press conference?

Crean's not exactly sunshine and lollipops when he addresses the media, I'd think that may be part of the reason why the press isn't huge fans of his. I think the things he's said about other coaches would probably explain why he isn't best friends with many other coaches (and I don't really think that matters, he's not at Indiana to be friends with the coaches at other schools, he's there to win).
I can't imagine how anyone would know who Crean is or is not friends with. Who are Matt Painter's best coaching friends besides Bruce Weber?
cuonzo martin
Wouldn't you say most of Matt Painter's coaching friends are guys that Purdue couldn't afford to keep on as assistants? :P

Obat, especially to those coaches that constantly run a zone against teams I coach, after the game I shake hands obviously but can't at all say what I really want to haha.

That would probably be frowned upon. Next year, against teams like that, I'm going to start the handshake line instead of being the caboose. That way I can put my 6'7 frame to use with the blow-by :D
