Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I wonder what coach(es) didn't vote Zeller for All Big 1st team. I mean really. I honestly can't think of who would replace him.

I might have taken Thomas over Mbakwe.

I think this is more surprising than Ryan as COY

Here is my 2 cents worth.

Crean is being overlooked for B1G COY. There is no difference between Bo Ryan winning it this year and Crean winning it last year. If that is the criteria, that should be consistent year end and year out. They gave it to Izzo for winning the B1G last year but predicted to finish 3rd. Doesn't seem consistent on how they determine it.

B1G POY should always, IMO, go to the team the wins the B1G regular season championship. In case of a tie, then it comes down to media vote. The B1G POY should have come down to Zeller and VO, IMO not Burke. That is just my opinon.

So who should have won POY if Wisconsin won the BIG this year? That just seems like a really odd opinion.

I get why people want us to win individual awards, but to me there are 3 goals this season: 1) win the B10 outright, 2) win the B10 tourney, 3) win the tournament. I care only a minimum amount about the individual awards. Crean got a little hosed over past 2 years, but who cares? The program is what it is at this point. If we're overlooked because people expect too much from us and meeting expectations isn't considered an accomplishment by the outside world, I'm good with that.

I'm not sure when the voting ballots were in, but could the post game altercation vs Michigan have cost Crean the award?

Probably their center, but like I said, just my opinion.

And you are certainly entitled to it. I'm just trying to understand it. So you don't think it would be weird to have the Big Ten POY be some guy whose name you don't even know simply because the team won the regular season title?

I guess because I am biased and we beat Michigan twice with big games from Zeller and Oladipo in those games, so I think an IU player should have gotten it. But Burke is a good player. Def don't agree with Ryan getting coach of the year though!
Using your own logic about the POY being based on who won, Ryan is deserving because he came to Assembly Hall and punked Crean in his own crib. I also think Crean was very deserving of COY.

If it hadn't been for Purdue getting a somewhat lucky win at Madison, Wisky would have been in a tie for the title heading into the last weekend. Don't get me wrong, I love to see them lose, but have to admit Ryan is a great coach.

I'd say good coach... Great coaches win championships
