  • Game # 35: (9) Temple v. (1) Indiana Game Thread
Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

The Indiana Hoosiers, after cruising to a 1st Round victory over James Madison University, will next take on the Temple Owls in what will almost assuredly be a much more difficult test for Coach Tom Crean's Hoosiers.

Temple defeated NC State in its opening round game, 76-72.

Temple, led by Coach Fran Dunphy, has thus far compiled a 24-9 record, going 11-5 in Atlantic 10 Conference play in the Regular Season.

Here is a link to the Temple Roster: http://www.owlsports.com/roster.aspx?path=mbball

The Owls are led by 6-4 Senior Guard Khalif Wyatt, who scored 31 points in Temple's win over NC State.

From watching the game and looking at the Box Score from the NC State game, Temple doesn't seem to be especially deep, essentially playing 7 guys in Friday's game.

How will the Hoosiers respond in this 2nd Round contest in Dayton?

Sunday's game is scheduled for approximately a 2:45 PM ET / 1:45 PM CT tip, and will be broadcast live on CBS.

Please post all pre-game, in-game, and post-game thoughts here.

Thanks,

HoosierKDH82

Wyatt has struggled lately shooting, but has made up for it by driving aggressively to the hoop. That doesn't bode we'll for him with Vic guarding him.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

Wyatt's thumb being ok or not, I like the odds of us having to stop one guy vs them having to stop our 5. Temple has nobody to cover to CZ, look for him to have 22-14, and i think watford gets about the same on the boards

In the ITH article today about Wyatt, Temple's coach was quoted saying that his team needs to rest on offense because they won't get to on defense. Sounds like they're going to try and slow us down. Should be a good test.
