Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I can't speak for Colt for sure, but my guess is that that wasn't his point at all (that people should stop fighting to end gun violence), rather that there is some deception out there in creating public sentiment about gun violence. That deception likely comes from those in politics and the media who want increased gun control.
If you want me to find surveys that link what people think has happened to abortion rates to what has actually happened, I will say that I would have a hard time finding them simply because it isn't something that is being polled, so I'll cede that point.

And as long as republicans in general think it's all about the big bad media, you will continue to lose elections.

Because you aren't going to convince me that the NRA isn't out that deceiving on the other end. We had a mass shooting at a school and they are selling the solution is more guns.
Well, based on the survey, the NRA certainly isn't doing it as much as their opponents.
Or maybe what they are shoveling is easier to spot.
Doubtful. If you think one organization has the power of nearly all of the main stream media, Bloomberg, Soros, and the President......well, speaking of shoveling.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

The Obama regime has an entire fleet of these for shoveling and transporting their "stuff."

Same old, same old. Gotta be the media that is the right's problem.

I know that I have never said that the media is the right's only problem, but I have a hard time figuring out why you can't admit that the majority of media swings left, and they do have a substantial influence on the sentiment of much of the country. If they had a libertarian slant, I would be jumping up and down with excitement and pride and definitely not hide behind that reality.

brian, clearly that has very very very little to do with it. Obama is one of the worst Presidents in American history and he was re-elected. The voters aren't really that educated on the candidates thus quality isn't getting elected.

You have to admit Aaron is right on this one Brian. We have had arguably the worst two presidents ever back to back, and they were both granted a second term.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

If the GOP had attractive candidates, do you think they would really get Brian's vote? No chance.

I'd say when P Diddy and Paris Hilton started promoting "vote or die"

I definitely agree that the candidates are getting worse and worse. But I feel like more people know more about policy positions now than ever before simply due to the access to information the internet has created...for better or worse. Just 50 years ago coverage was limited to print media and occasional TV ads.

Now, you can not escape the info (whether it be substantive or not).

I don't know...but it seems to me that there was a time when less people voted, but more of those who voted knew why they were voting the way they were.

the information is definitely more readily available, but that doesn't mean by any stretch that more people are taking the time to go and get it.
